Thanks for finding those, Tom, but man is New-Anonimo a train wreck. :snooty:

I loved the LLD but the long lugs ended up driving me to sell it. I think this one will have the same issue.
How were the holes placed? Closer to the case or at the very end of the long lugs?

I actually kind of like it. It would be a great successor to the last ~$3400 Seiko LE that you owned. I'm not sure I'd pay BP money for it though!
I'll go check it out in person when it shows up, but it's probably too much going on for my personal taste.

They didn’t show at Basel, but I know a lot of DWC guys are fans of Marathon. Here is their new Black GSAR. Looks good but a little pricy at $1380. A bracelet is available according to Page and Cooper.

FEATURES

MIL-SPEC: Built to government specifications for use by military personnel. Matte Black Anthracite IP coated stainless steel (316L) case with superior scratch resistance. Vulcanized rubber strap included.

TRITIUM GAS TUBES: Self-illuminating tritium gas tubes glow with no need to be charged by an external light source.

SEARCH & RESCUE: Designed for Search and Rescue missions at sea and water resistant to 300 meters (1000 ft).

AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT: 25 jewel Swiss made ETA 2824-2 self-winding mechanical movement.

SWISS MADE: Marathon watches are proudly made in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland since 1939.

What the fuck is “matte black anthracite”?
It looks great, though.
Wasn’t there a black GSAR on DWC years ago?

It looks like Panerai’s original color of DLC. I’m a fan of the color for sure.

Just seeing these new Anonimo's that were just evidently recently shown
over at Baselworld, and help celebrate the brand's 20th Anniversary guys.

There are the Anonimo Militare Vintage, and Militare Vintage Chronograph which
have 43.4mm stainless steel cushion cases, 120M WR, AR coated sapphire crystal,
eggshell white, or black dials with Super Luminova coated hands, numbers, and
markers, decorated 31 jewel Sellita SW260-1, or Sellita SW300 with special
Dubois Depraz 2035M module made for Anonimo, and cool leather straps.

Along with Epurato Blu Intenso, and Bronze Galvanic Green Sunray with 42mm
cushion cases, 50M WR, AR coated sapphire crystal, deep matte blue, or green
sunray dials with Super Luminova coated hands, and applied numbers, and also
markers, leather straps, and 26 jewel SW 200-1 automatic there behind things.

Good looking out, Tom

Maybe it's the post shift beers talking, but I came in cross-eyed looking that the chrono. Maybe it was because of the hour hand placement?

To me that is what Anthracite would be in my eyes. I’m not sure though.

All of my pics are still available to download from the Photobucket app. YMMV.

It would be a keeper. I like everything about it. Hopefully it’s not thicker than 15mm.

I tried on the 45mm BCPP D/D last year and it fit fine on the L2L so the 44 chrono should be a mm or so shorterImage The strap is killer with that infinitely adjustable clasp!

Citizen flew under the radar this year at Basel, but they did release an eco-drive movement (Caliber 0100) that is accurate to +/- 1 second / year without using radio/gps. So far just a concept movement, but would love to see it in a diver.

I know it’s just a concept but putting a solar powered movement in a pocket watch seems silly to me.

They're working on bringing it to their main collections starting next year – was just a concept this year, but in their eyes, this is the future of their premium offerings.

Agreed. That’s Speedmaster money and for less you can get a Brellum or Damasko with Valjoux movement.

If the 1.1 was Ti, we would have worked a deal a few weeks ago Image Retail for the Oris is crazy and I’d never pay it. Now 30% off I would pull the trigger Image
