They are using the 1861 and not the Coax, so it has a chance of being relatively thin.
Beyond prices, I just find Seiko consistently does some really weird/random stuff:JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 3:15 pmSeiko is crazy. Without great value, what exactly do they offer? People complain about Rolex availability but they are one of the only brands that doesn’t suck.Joeprez wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 3:09 pm$2,500 as per Hodinkee. New movement, but it doesn't appear to be special in any way.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 2:37 pmSomeone in the uk said it’s more expensive than the last LE version.

- We're going to make a great field watch, but make it come standard in a bizarre green color with gold markers and cathedral hands. We'll give it a sapphire crystal but put it on a crappy faux-alligator dress strap.
- We're going to release multiple versions of the same watch, but make it so you can only get it on a bracelet for certain versions and only on a rubber strap for others. We have no real explanation for this.
- We're going to put sapphire crystals on cheaper models but put hardlex crystals on more expensive models.
- We're going to give you two straps with some of our watches, but only one with others in the same price range. We have no real explanation for this.
- The second strap is usually a stiff, poor quality rubber strap. We make good rubber straps, but we just don't think we should include one with your $1,000 or $2,000 watch.
- Our sizes are all over the place with no rhyme or reason.
- We won't do a 300m diver in an affordable price range.
- Our use of handsets is entirely random. Basically whatever the designer pulled out of his drawer that day.
All of the above means I've talked myself out of a lot of Seiko purchases with the thought, "that watch would be perfect if only..."
Ah man. That’s not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping for a new case that wasn’t so tall with slab sides. I guess it’ll be the new blackbay 5-8 for me. I always loved the black gilt dial in the original B.B... now I have no excuses.JBZ wrote:Yes, and about $3,500 on the strap. Supposedly standard 41mm black bay case.
I'd be interested in the "1968" diver, but not at 1,100. Euros...
I don’t know if just the photos or what, but not digging this. Looks kinda cheap.Panerai7 wrote:This is kind of interesting from Longines
Will need to see in the metal of course. Hopefully faux Luke is not too faux in the daylight. And mesh has got to go.tattoo chef wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 10:12 amI don’t know if just the photos or what, but not digging this. Looks kinda cheap.Panerai7 wrote:This is kind of interesting from Longines
