Looks like a higher quality seiko.
Re: Basel Releases 2018
My initial interest in the Devil Diver seems to be waning.
Something is off with the reissue...perhaps it's the hands (a touch too short perhaps) or maybe because it's too literal an interpretation (the clear bubble markers look kinda cheapish now). I'm not feeling the love so much anymore.

I had read not to be released until July, but that may have been referring to the domestic SPB079.hoppyjr wrote:OK, I think I want one of these. Anyone know availability and best price?
The JDM shows stock here, but I have my doubts. May be a preorder?

Thanks. Looks like preorder. Maybe I’ll just hang back and wait for plentiful supply....and discounts.

Is this a sumo or samurai or something? Really is it a previous release but new color? I kinda like it- I honestly can’t keep up with the model numbershoppyjr wrote:59yukon01 wrote:I had read not to be released until July, but that may have been referring to the domestic SPB079.hoppyjr wrote:OK, I think I want one of these. Seriously though:
SPB077 black w/bracelet = SBDC061 (JDM)
SPB079 blue bezel w/rubber = SBDC063 (JDM)

Only Seiko would create a totally forgettable meaningless alphanumeric name for a watch, and then make it even more meaningless by giving it a second one for no reason.

I like the look, but hate the size. How small of a case can a UNITAS fit in?AtomicTom wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 2:42 pmThen you have the Tissot Heritage 2018 which pays tribute to a watch

Good find Tom! I like that blue automatic and the titanium diver. I'm sure the auto will have the goofy 21mm lugs, but the diver will likely have 22's like it's steel cousin.

Re: Basel Releases 2018
I definitely see no sense in giving them entirely different, and not even close, numbers for domestic versus JDM. I've not seen that before. Other than that their numbers are no worse than other high end brands I've seen.JP Chestnut wrote:Only Seiko would create a totally forgettable meaningless alphanumeric name for a watch, and then make it even more meaningless by giving it a second one for no reason.
Omega for example uses way too many dots in many of their models.

Re: Basel Releases 2018
I think rolex is pretty solid with reference numbers. The 16520 Daytona was replaced with the... 116520 Daytona. Omega is terrible though. 2254 I can remember. 212.666.1342234.69 I can’t.59yukon01 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 5:37 pmI definitely see no sense in giving them entirely different, and not even close, numbers for domestic versus JDM.
