I hate that they clutter such a nice dial with day markers.

It isn't just the material. I actually prefer the Tudor font and spacing. The look more crisp and business-like to my eye.

Re: Basel Releases 2018
I personally love ceramic and sapphire bezels, with aluminum a distant third - just personal taste.
That recurring picture (and a few others) of the new Rolex GMT is horrible, over-saturated and I doubt color accurate. I've handled two BLRO's and seen them in display cases dozens of times and the colors never looked anything like that, red not pink, and blue not purple. Maybe there are pink/purple ones out there, but everyone I've seen looks like a whole lot better. Will be interesting to see when more pic data points are available for the new one.
BP's new divers are disappointing.

Again, for me it's not material but color. One is red and blue and other is pink and lavender. YukSeppia wrote:Completely agree.r.palace wrote:

Aluminum is such a superior choice, I’ve always liked it much better than ceramic.

Let's throw some new Seikos in here. Assuming the new MM300 only comes in green now, and has eliminated Marinemaster from the dial and added the Prospex logo.

So very disappointed in Seiko. Stop adding the X and same handset to every model for fucks sake
Re: Basel Releases 2018
I like the green one. Ceramic bezel. Doesn't say if it's sapphire crystal though?

Re: Basel Releases 2018
Seiko sucks. Their big push into the west consists of higher prices, uglier designs, and shitty long-term parts availability. That green MM300 is a such a blatant 116100LV rip-off.
They do a nice engraved dial though
Just don't expect to be able to get a service replacement dial in ten years.

Re: Basel Releases 2018
I really, really like both of these, but the Tudor probably edges out for me. I would have loved to see a 39mm Pelagos, in a blue dial but that might not be too far out of the realm of possibilities given the return of smaller cases. Tudor seems to have a good feel for what the markets wants.hoppyjr wrote:39mm white dial OP
39mm Black Bay with in house. $3500 ish.
As for Omega-the new offerings aren’t doing it for me.

I kinda like that Forest Green MM300. Agree with Pat, enough of the same handset in every watch.
Re: Basel Releases 2018
Oris has introduced 2 new Sixty Five divers
Not sure I like Bronze bezel on SS case.
This is all Andrea - the one on the right is 36mm

Re: Basel Releases 2018
36mm is too small for a diver. Is the bronze bezel going to corrode to the SS case?
Re: Basel Releases 2018
That's a great question. I don't like mixed color/type metals anyway so I have no experience with that. Although a lot of companies use SS or Ti caseback for their Bronze divers so I guess it's okayJP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 7:29 am36mm is too small for a diver. Re: Basel Releases 2018
i have yet to see anything that makes me running to open my wallet at this point from Basel 2018/// Sad....
The only thing i really loved so far was the new Brellum LE. But for me its too complicated as i dont keep my watches on winders and resetting all that stuff wouldn't work for me. Im sure i will regret it not getting 1 of the 13 made. Even my GO panolunar i dont set the moon phase etc each time as its just another step i dont have time to deal with when putting the watch on.
From the official Brellum site-

New B&R, I love everything about it but WTF is up with the date window. IWC finally dropped it and now B&R picked it up, great.
Re: Basel Releases 2018
looks like a toy and the exposed date is a Fn no go for me ALWAYS>.

Well, there goes my resolve not to buy anything new. I loved the old BB except for the dimensions. I'll have to get this.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 10:09 am
Just a winner in every way.

Initial Thoughts
Meant to replicate the charm and appeal of Tudor's vintage reference 7924, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight is not only a bit smaller than a standard Black Bay, it's also quite a bit thinner, coming in at a svelte 11.9mm (vs 14.75mm on the 41mm wide models). In addition to the new proportions, the Fifty-Eight employs a gilt colorway, with a gold-tone used for the bezel, hands, and dial markings. Finally, in a further connection with the aesthetic of the original Big Crown of the late 50s, the Fifty-Eight use of a colorless brushed steel crown tube.

If it's really 39x12mm, this thing is filling a hole in the market that's absolutely wide open. Just make a blue version

I wish Tudor would lose those dumb bolts on the links....
