I think they should have renamed it Blahselworld. Nothing of interest for me this year.

(I think JP is finally rubbing off on me Image )
Rolex needs to start Awesomeworld
I wish I shared your excitement over Rolex, but I'm just not into the brand. Too ubiquitous and too many games need to be played to buy one.
I gotta admit, this morning has completely restructured my entire year and probably even beyond.
I'm so glad I didn't settle for a too-big BB just because they're cheap. I hope Tudor gets them out quickly. I'd like to buy one for the summer.

New job, new house, new watch(es).
I'm sure they'll be available, luckily Tudor is still a WIS watch not a rich couple strolling through a mall buying each other gifts watch
I may pick up the Tudor GMT BB once the dust settles and they'll be under 3K with discount from AD. It'll sing on straps Image
Love what Tudor is doing, but it's absolutely a "stroll through the mall" type of watch, at least from what I've seen. More young folks in my area want Tudor than other established brands. Price is one factor, I'm sure. But style and marketing are a big part of it. It's definitely not just a WIS brand anymore.
Yeah you're probably right, Lady GAGA is not helping :)

I can't recall the last time I was this excited about an attainable watch. The 36mm version with a plain bezel is now available in blue, which looks very nice. Too bad it has the stupid crown.
Solid performance from Tudor/Rolex house. Great Basel so far
Agree. Everyone but Andrew is happy :bird:

I've adopted your persona for Blahselworld 2018 :)

Tudor obviously hit a massive home run with the Black Bay given all of its permutations. Beyond that, I wonder what sells for them among the average consumer. I find most of their dressy stuff horrible (the 1926, the Style, the Glamour, etc.), but maybe they appeal to the man/woman on the street looking for a nice, expensive but-not-too-expensive watch.

On the flip side, I imagine most people outside the WIS crowd don't give two hoots about the history of the ranger, for example. And while having an in-house movement might be appealing to some, it would most likely only be because the salesperson talked it up as a feature.

I think Tudor does a nice job straddling the line between stuff they know the true enthusiast will like and stuff that appeals to someone just looking for a nice watch.

They seem like they're Tudor's modern answer to the Datejust and Day-Date. But the proportions are wrong and, at least in the renderings, the gold they use looks cheap to my eye (fine for a $600 Hamilton, but less so for a $3,500 Tudor). Maybe they look better IRL.

For what it's worth, the proportions are what put me off the current version of the Ranger. It's a watch I really, really want to like. I bought one and held onto it for about a week. I know some love it, but there's just something off about it to my eye.

Would love to see it in a blue similar to the original BBB.
No. They're offering a blue dial on the no bezel versions. They NEED to make a 39mm version with a blue bezel and blue dial. That thing would be

I'm just happy to have a thinner and smaller diver that doesn't have horrible proportions available new from an AD.

The Vertex looks good to me. I also really like the new Hamilton Khaki Mechanical - planning on picking one of those up at some point.

I don't know exactly what it is about the Ranger - something to do with the large dial and the comparatively thin lugs and bezel. Also, I'm a bracelet guy and the straight endlinks just don't do it for me. It's a watch that I think could be tweaked a bit and would look really good. That's why I was hoping for a 39 mm version, but didn't happen this year.

I liked the ranger more in person than I expected. It's definitely a large dial relative to the rest of the watch.

Just a winner in every way.

Per Hoedicky
Initial Thoughts
Meant to replicate the charm and appeal of Tudor's vintage reference 7924, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight is not only a bit smaller than a standard Black Bay, it's also quite a bit thinner, coming in at a svelte 11.9mm (vs 14.75mm on the 41mm wide models). In addition to the new proportions, the Fifty-Eight employs a gilt colorway, with a gold-tone used for the bezel, hands, and dial markings. Finally, in a further connection with the aesthetic of the original Big Crown of the late 50s, the Fifty-Eight use of a colorless brushed steel crown tube.

If it's really 39x12mm, this thing is filling a hole in the market that's absolutely wide open. Just make a blue version

There is a collar, but it’s silver like on the Ranger.
That's good, no color collar, you know the one that peels and deteriorates
Wait...did Tudor fix the collar collar, or is it still the same old???

I was under the impression of the latter...
