I still really enjoy my S500/BK, but I'm not seeing anything here that makes me remotely want to call my AD.
Sapphire bezels look like they are gone from the updated S500 line, added a piss lume S501 (that at least does not have an outlined date window), and they have a Terra Nova part deux.
The Chronos and the U-2 look ok, but aren't thrilling.
I use to love at least a few Bremonts, but not seeing anything here to get me excited about.

Yep, still feel that the blue S500 I had is better looking that the new models. Gen 1 dials and bezels were way better.

Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
I prefer the 500 date only dial, over the existing day-date.

Completely agree, the day was the only thing I didn't like. Lumed seconds hand would also have been an improvement.

I have no idea what these costs, but I'm 100% sure there's a more desirable alternative to every single one.

Heck - I like the both the old S500 and the new S500.
I like that they added a tiny pop of color and I prefer a ceramic bezel over a sapphire one.
The textured dial I prefer on the older model.

They are all in the 4-6K range-- I like the S500 w/date only...I think the Endurance is kind of cool but not crazy about $6300 price.
Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
They had their time and place. $4500 for an ETA diver doesn't fly anymore, no pun intended. Tudor was a game changer. I don't see a reason to get one of these divers when Black Bay and Pelagos are </= and have in-house 70HR power reserve Turdor/Rolex movements. Plus LNIB Omega Planet Ocean is in that range.

Definitely not "Explorer Killers" at $6,000... to borrow a phrase. I realize people like them, but these are towards the bottom of my watch hierarchy. The super cringy brothers with a VC backed and made up origin story and generally forgettable watches At least the after sale service is good.jimyritz wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 8:53 am=================JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 7:37 amI have no idea what these costs, but I'm 100% sure there's a more desirable alternative to every single one.

Not "Explorer Killers" for sure
Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
I honestly don't mind the new stripped-down Endurance or the new S500 – the Supermarine kills it at 43mm. Aesthetic is nice and clean, but that's also sort of the problem – the OG options looked real good with the oversized hour markers and the cool RR minute track running the inside. Without either, and without the sapphire bezel, they're starting to look like a lot of other dive watches out there, and that's not... Well, that's not awesome.
Value is pretty subjective, but the Terra Nova has one of the nicest dive watch cases I've ever owned. These guys are at least still getting that right.

Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
The Airco's aren't bad looking, but not at that price point.
Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
I really liked Bremont early on, but the main problem is that they haven't continued to evolve and bring anything new to market to justify price. Rehashing versions of the same watches over and over again (often just making them worse) won't cut it for long. Hell, the new Endurance looks nearly identical to the Terra Nova. You could put them side-by-side in a kids' "spot the differences" activity, and I don't know if you would find more differences than you could count on one hand.
Granted, this is a similar criticisms of a lot of brands these days - basically just rehashing previous releases (whether it's Nomos with the "At Work" series, or JLC releasing ANOTHER Polaris tribute, or Omega's Trilogy series which are basically identical copies of their vintage watches).

Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
Yeah, its a shame for Bremont, because I really like the case constructions on those watches. Have even been thinking about grabbing a Solo, but I think I would lose interest (I did sell my S500, so...).
Art is right in that Tudor is a better buy if you're looking for something not too mainstream (i.e. you don't want a Rolex or Omega). CS is pretty good in my experience.

Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
Dunno if "not too mainstream" is how I'd describe Tudor anymore.
Bremont's hardly been a value proposition, but I picked up my Terra Nova on the forums for a few hairs over $3k, which still feels like a hell of a deal. It doesn't necessarily feel like a 'better' watch than my Pelagos, but they're certainly in the same league if you buy on the secondary.
Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
but that pelagos will still cost less on the secondary.

Lady Gaga has nasty little troll hands.
Re: Bremont 2018 new releases
still own two of the original bremont designs, and after seeing the newer releases over the past few years, i'm glad i got in earlier rather than later, as the design evolution is not speaking to me, and i much prefer the earlier designs.
i have to say, i didn't "get" them until i tried them on. the case construction is not only visually striking, but also very comfortable. their oem straps are also quality offerings, and relatively affordable as oem straps go.
we can all agree they've had their pr missteps, but as mentioned, service is amazing, some of the best i've experienced, and for what is included in a full watch service, a relative bargain.

Unlike the Submariner?
On TZ-UK JP has been chipping brands for not sticking with tried and true designs, and here you chip Bremont for sticking with their tried and true design. The commentariat are hard to please it would seem.
