Something I learned today...

Post by outtatime » Fri Feb 23, 2018 10:27 am

If you ever happen to get water-based paint on your watch, you can get it off with rubbing alcohol. We had one of those wine-me-dine-me-paint shit parties at work yesterday, and I didn't realize I had gotten some splatters on the clasp of my brand-new Green Submariner. I did some googling and saw a suggestion to use rubbing alcohol. Didn't have any at work, but we did have some alcohol prep pads. I just let it sit on the spots for about 10 seconds and the paint lifted right off.

Sorry if everyone already knew this, just thought I'd share.

I imagine there was immediate terror and sweating once you realized that you had paint on your watch .

Glad you were able to get it off.

No, I didn’t even notice it until today. It was on the side of the clasp and I knew it was just acrylic paint so there had to be a way to get it off. I was fairly nonplussed about it. I would have been more annoyed if it had been on my shirt or something.
