New Tag Heuer Autavia Jo Siffert Collector's Edition
Panda dial, in-house movement, classic Heuer logo. What's not to like?
100 pc LE, $5600

Blue markers and second hand is a nice touch.

If i had an extra $5600 laying around I’d hit it.

Don't like the bezel with two rows of numbers, looks too busy, prefer the regular production bezel. They should have done the date in black that would make the subdial consistent. For that kinda money I'd rather have something cooler than a Tag
Re: New Tag Heuer Autavia Jo Siffert Collector's Edition
Very cool. They “fixed” the minute counter, too. I’m biased, but think the standard Autavia is just as nice.
Re: New Tag Heuer Autavia Jo Siffert Collector's Edition
Re the date: it's either risk losing it in the dial if it's black or having it stand out but look inconsistent if it's white... lose-lose situation in my opinion. Have to agree with you on the $5,600 TAG. Why not get a speedy for $3,000 and spend the remaining on a one or two other sweet pieces (doxa black lung for $2,400 for example)?

Like it except the date and the two rows of numbers... Why do these brands insist on the date?
Overall, still pretty good. Right now focused on JLC Polaris..

100 pieces? I guess there won’t be any discounts.

100 pieces? I guess they’ll be over priced from resellers very soon.

I agree with you on the price - I'd find it very tough to swallow spending $5600 on a Tag. But to be fair, you're comparing the price of this watch to used Speedy prices. The Speedy is currently $5250 new and used Autavias (the 2017 non-Siffert version, at least) go for a little over $3K.

Fair point. I never buy new. Except toilet paper of course.

Looks good. Would still prefer the bezel a bit thinner, but overall, it's a winner.

Very interesting that in the link the date window is black like I would have liked it.logan2z wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 9:31 amAnd it's sold out

Re: New Tag Heuer Autavia Jo Siffert Collector's Edition
Think Andrew's hit this one spot on. From my perspective, the regular production Autavia is a great value, assuming you appreciate the tech that goes into the CH02 movement, and that historically-styled reverse panda compax layout. Remember, this is an in-house automatic column wheel chronograph with a vertical clutch, which was designed for COSC-level timekeeping, and has a 75+ hour power reserve. Full list on an Autavia with the brown strap is currently $5,150 (and the best NIB discounts to be found at AD's, etc. when I was shopping were just under $4k.) Used examples are apparently selling in the $3,350-$3,400 range. The pricing of this limited Siffert version isn't that crazy compared to the the regular production Autavia (or a new sapphire Speedmaster Pro), but only if you factor out the discounts.logan2z wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 7:10 amI agree with you on the price - I'd find it very tough to swallow spending $5600 on a Tag.
