Dial is painted in a way to create an interesting matte charcoal result, not the deep black of gloss dials. I think it’ll look great without the damn cyclops.
What are you going to do to remove the cyclops? There isn't another crystal that fits the same as with the GMT or YM.
I've popped a few off of cheaper watches. Just heat it up with a lighter and hit it a couple times with a razor blade. The heat softens the adhesive and pops right off. Don't think I'd ever try it with a Rolex though.

Can't do it with these though due to the AR coating under the cyclops. Need a full replacement crystal.
You can do that with the older, 5-digital Rolexes with sapphire crystals.

Matt one day when you get old like me and your eyesite not what it use to be you will appreciate the cyclops on the crystal to help you see the date with out holding a magnifying glass to the crystal to see what day it is

I recall seeing a technical description of AR application directly below the cyclops on both the top surface of the crystal and the lower dial-facing surface. That’s the “shadow” visible underneath. You believe that wouldn’t polish off, Matt?

Whisky has killed more men than bullets, but most men would rather be full of whisky than bullets.

Last minute change. I don’t think I’ve broken this one out in a month.

The only way you might be able to do it is to have the crystal removed and polish both sides on it.

That’s the plan, T. I may also reach out to LAWW, and see if they’d cut a new replacement. Want to have a back up plan, just because.

Heck ask LAWW if they can polish it and put a new ar on the bottom of it.

Thanks pal.
This one has 21mm lugs so I have to keep it on bracelet. It’s ok though, because I love it this way.
The 8900 series PO is pretty much perfect; about the same thickness as the 2500, adjustable clasp with dive extension, the Liquidmetal bezel and polished ceramic dial, and it’s the most accurate watch I’ve owned @ +9/10 (.9) seconds total over 20 days.
