New 62MAS PADI model
Check out this new Seiko:
And it's far more affordable than the SLA017 was ($850, apparently).

Re: New 62MAS PADI model
blue bezel not so much but the rest is pretty cool
Re: New 62MAS PADI model
anodized metal looks like a cheap MIC carabiner from walmart
I do like the dial though and the watch itself is obviously two thumbs up

Re: New 62MAS PADI model
It needs an equally crappy blue crown to go with it.

Re: New 62MAS PADI model
Man I'd love that. Maybe I'll do a render with a blue crown too.
Re: New 62MAS PADI model
The PADI thing is overdone.

Wow that dial looks great, Seiko should think about doing PADI versions of a couple of their other drivers.

Re: New 62MAS PADI model
This PADI shit is getting old.
Re: New 62MAS PADI model
I'm not a big fan of the X either... I wouldn't consider a watch that had that logo on it. I may be in the minority, but I almost always adhere to the "less is more" mentality with watch faces.
I wish they would go back to basics.

I wonder if Seiko is paying PADI to use the logo, or if PADI is paying Seiko. The latter would explain why this silliness continues.

I bet seiko puss by the year, not the watch. Hence the 1000 different versions.

100pct agreed. Some people think the PADI thing is overdone but what kinda company with thousands of employees would say no to making more money on the same watches with just a few changes ? I’d be milking that PADI wagon until no one buys them but that day won’t come.james80 wrote:Wow that dial looks great, Seiko should think about doing PADI versions of a couple of their other drivers.
We got a bunch of expert grumps here that would pass on money I see.
I’d be making all kinds of ugly combinations like the purple dial with green or blue bezel Sumo lol. If it sells, why not ?

It might sell, but not to me.watches503 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2018 11:17 am100pct agreed. Re: New 62MAS PADI model
Because selling ugly shit to people with bad taste makes your brand look bad.
Re: New 62MAS PADI model

Re: New 62MAS PADI model
They should have stopped with the PADI naft. Now it's just a watered down name, and most everything after the naft is fugly.
Re: New 62MAS PADI model
There’s probably a way to do that.Panerai7 wrote:yeah look at Panerai, i'm truly embarrassed for them. Wish I could change my nickJP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2018 11:38 amBecause selling ugly shit to people with bad taste makes your brand look bad.

Yeah. Very stupid of Seiko to make more watches that sell like hot cakes.

Re: New 62MAS PADI model
Not thrilled with this one, but some of the other PADI models are OK and the NAFT is great.
Let's face it, this is what Seiko does, come up with many version of one watch and keep iterating what sells. Not the first time, won't be the last.
