Anyone wearing an Apple Watch Series 3 (or similar Android) regularly?
I’ve thinking about getting an Apple watch for jogging / biking (usually take a G shock or Seiko beater) and to wear around the house (I could listen to music via bluetooth headphones without having my phone on me). I’m of course concerned that I will get bored quickly. Not planning of wearing for work / when going out. Any experience from owners of any smartwatches here?

I wear my Samsung gear frontier often. I like it a lot. Nice change from normal watches.

Btw i have like 500 watch faces for it. Keeps it fresh.
I also have a Moto 360 gen 2 for sale. Great price. I prefer Android Wear and Samsung to Apple for the vast customizations available and apps etc.

It's a novelty. That said I wear it perhaps 4x a month.

You prefer something over Apple? Big surprise
I wore one for 18 months. If you have an iPhone and would like a smart watch, it’s the best option.

I wear my Fitbit Ionic all day on my off wrist. It’s their equivalent to the Apple Watch. It stores hundreds of songs and it’s what I use to track heart rate and steps. Charge lasts up to 4 days and I absolutely love it.

I guess I would wear it at night and on weekends around the house. Its not a lot of money so it would be ok. I could sell a couple of beaters and offset the cost.ericf4 wrote:It's a novelty. That said I wear it perhaps 4x a month.

When I first got it I seriously wore it for like a month straight and all my other watches just sat in the Box because it is really cool actually. It's just at some point you feel guilty that you have all these expensive watches sitting around and you have to go back and wear them.

I do the same with a fitbit charge and a flex 2 (flex 2 doesn’t give me heart rate). Will try that but both the Ionic and the Apple watch are larger.Nellipj wrote:I wear my Fitbit Ionic all day on my off wrist. It’s their equivalent to the Apple Watch. It’s more than a novelty imo. Notifications alone were excellent. I have an original and the battery life and water resistance lead me back to an auto.
The activity tracker was nice and I ditched the Fitbit, but eventually went to a Misfit Ray.

Re: Anyone wearing an Apple Watch Series 3 (or similar Android) regularly?
I started with a Charge HR 2. I preferred the size of the Charge and was hesitant at first, but the added benefit of waterproof and storing music on the Ionic is why I switched. It tracks heart rate very well (a lot better than the Charge), and its really nice to be able to workout without your phone. From a fitness standpoint it's fantastic. Waterproof to 50M, stores tons of music, tracks everything you need. Size wise it's definitely a watch, but the nice thing about it is you can pop off the bands in 2 seconds and put it in your pocket when you don't want it on your wrist. I do that all the time. It still tracks all your steps in your pocket.Joeprez wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2018 6:43 amI do the same with a fitbit charge and a flex 2 (flex 2 doesn’t give me heart rate). Would you wear both? I’ve been giving thought to getting one and wearing it on my off wrist, all the time.
I’d probably take it off while sleeping so it could charge and I wouldn’t be bothered by notifications, but I think it would be 1000% useful to have in my life.
I’d just never use it as a watch. Unless it can have a Blancpain face :-)

This thread convinced me.
I’ve wanted one for years but due to work considerations have never been allowed to have one, which has since changed.
So, I just bought one from the Apple store and will pick it up today. I really look at it, while wearing both, as I wear one watch and one device. I want it for all the other things it does.

The strap adapters are handy, as they allow the use of any strap.

I will try that, if I don’t like it, it would still be handy for exercise and weekends. Gonna order one too.Grahamcombat wrote:Would you wear both? I’ve been giving thought to getting one and wearing it on my off wrist, all the time.

I still don't get smart watches. There's enough distraction already. I don't want to know when I get an email. The phone telling me I've got a text or meeting is enough. Don't need to know how many steps I've taken or aboit my sleep cycle. I know if I worked out or slept.

I’m looking at it as a way to 1) maintain immediate comms and 2) get off of my phone.

A smart watch helps with the less gadgets. I had a tendency to check my phone less when I wore the Apple Watch. A quick glance at your watch is less intrusive than pulling your phone out to check it.
