I lusted for the Tribute model but it was out of my league. Since I also don’t need a Chrono or alarm, either the date or no-date can work for me. The dual crown - all dial look should wear great in 41 or 42mm sizes.

Any idea when these will start showing up at dealers?
Alarm, Date and No date are all 20mm lugs, waiting for confirmation if 100m No Date models have screw down crowns like the Alarm and Date models.

We at AP have figured out how to bake waffle dials in all sorts of colors. Instead of making that bezel with something scratch resistant like ceramic. Worse and worse every year

This is what has kept me from grabbing an AP so far, as much as i love the look of the bezel...it appears it can be a scratch magnet.

AP has had ceramic bezels for quite awhile now. Probably before most other brands went ceramic.

Those watches suck, but at least the date wheel is properly colored - something JLC didn't bother to do.

Get the no-date Jacob, it's smaller at 41, no "piss" lume that your hate and has perfect symmetry of no-date, I bet it would look awesome on your wrist

It is pretty cool. If I were going to get another Richemont watch, which I won't, I'd probably consider that one.

Just get the marbled plastic version. Those don't scratch - they simply fall apart.

I wouldn't want my watch to melt every time I flip a burger. That watch was the stupidest thing AP has come up with besides this Invicta

Love the Polaris line. Aside from the LE, pricing seems pretty reasonable. Last year's jlc sector dials were also reasonably priced, Imo. New offshores are crap. AP ultrathins looks pretty sweet. I like the ti platinum mix.

I checked with JLC as Art did and they just sent me an email -

The Polaris crowns do NOT screw down.

I'm waiting for a call back. Doesn't sound right "fluted, not screw down" the lady I spoke with was sure 200m are screwed down but was double checking on 100m

I'm all confused now, 200M non-screw down crowns? I can see the crown operating the dive timing rotating disk but the other one?

I really think I might try to make one of the Polaris dates happen in a year or two. I almost pulled the trigger on the 2008 Tribute a few years ago, and I probably should have. One of my favorite watches of all time. This one isn't quite as cool, but it still pushes a lot of buttons for me. And I'm not a faux-tina lover generally, but the vanilla lume works better for me than the no-date's bright white lume.
