These JLC Polaris models are a step in the right direction. Incidentally, had they gone with a black date wheel, it would have looked wrong...it's needed to counter the white of the '9' on the overall dial aesthetic.

1000 pieces of LE makes it more obtainable than the 768 of the 2008 tribute and the sapphire on this edition is the expected update. The no-date version isn't as 'nice' in looks (from the photos) as it may be been when they were conceptualizing it. I think the date version is better balanced overall.

The hands are a little thick on the LE...a bit too heavy, I think.

Up close shot of the dial. Such an improvement to me with larger numerals metal surrounded like Explorer and different textures, gorgeous multifaceted hands and thank God Sapphire
Fantastic update, never like the earlier Polaris but this is on the list now

I actually prefer the dial of the earlier release - the numerals look disproportionately large here and I don't like the metal surrounds or the fraction of a hash mark to the right of the date wheel. The alarm indicator is also the wrong shape. Just MHO...

That's great then you can get the older one. Now we all have choices 👍

I like the LE Polaris alarm way more than the old TTP68, but the disappointing thing is that it's just more rehashing of the same things. I want something new.

Has anyone posted this yet?

APRO ultra slim. Smoked dial, TI case, and bracelet with PT bezel and links. They have the usual monstrosities as well.

Were the "9" actually white I'd agree with you. However, since its fauxtina lume I'd still say black date wheel or dare I say black date wheel with color matched to the lume

Yeah, the 2008 dial (and hands) may be better that way.

What I disliked about the earlier version was the plexi and the overall thickneess of the watch. It was a liability that way which these are not bothered by though. Trade-offs with every version...

The alarm around 6k would be great. The Richmond resale value and a couple years will probably make that feasible.

The Explorer 1 (214270) is a terrific watch and hard to beat. Ive said many times; if Rolex did a 41mm version I would own it.

I don’t usually wear the bracelet anyway, so a 41mm dual-crown JLC will be inbound when I’m able. That thing should rock on nato. I hope for screw crown and 20mm lugs.

AP seems to be stuck in a rut too. Same old stuff just in different colors/materials. I know something is wrong when my favorite new releases are from Montblanc.

What're the chances of two people having "KarlskronaSucks" as their password? Pretty good now that I think about it!

Seriously, though - all these Richemont watches are generic and forgettable. They are clearly in for some shitty times in the near future.

I really like it, though I’d opt for the no-date version. I’m excited to see this at 42. But I’m not 12k excited.

Whoa awesome Art, and everyone !!! :headbang: Honestly almost feels like we are all there. :salute:
Really liking those JLC's a lot ! ..They really have such a classic, or vintage feel meshed
with a terrific modern side.

Just had seen the Montblanc 1858 Chronographs today which you already have pictures
up of. :salute: Love those too ! You have that insanely nice bronze, and then super sleek,
and classic black. Both are beautiful !

Thanks so much for all of this cool news you guys !!!

I’d hit the no date Polaris at a discount for sure, but I certainly wouldn’t trade my 214270 for one.

Love love love that Polaris LE.

it looks like someone said, "just go into photoshop and use the "add noise" filter to make it look like the dial has texture."
