For those who have not seen them, the "Apple" watch and the Cheese watch from Moser:

I actually like this:

The Apple watch was great.
They are very serious about watchmaking, but have a great sense of humour.

If I was balling I would definitely rock a Red gold fume dial. Amazing

That is the "big date" for blind old men I presume. They have similar models without it fortunately.
It's all academic to me, mainly because I am poor.

No kidding their watches are amazing. I actually like oversized date. The big date video they came up with is funny.

It's pretty shitty of them, but I fukkin' love it. Rich trolls are the best trolls.

Plus, they're only making one, and whomever buys into the joke will essentially be putting their money straight into charity, so I'd call it a win for the rest of us.

Looks like they got cold feet and it is being withdrawn from the auction and locked away.

The article says the watch was misinterpreted. I don't see how that's possible given their advertising campaign. The industry backlash must've been more than they could stomach.

Yeah, I'm guessing lots of legal challenge (or at least threats of it).

Some day this could be considered an artsy pop culture masterpiece.

It's always the weirdest things that somehow wind up desirable.

I still don't understand why a painting of a Campbell's soup can is so amazing.

Had to be Biver. The video they released was basically shitting on everything Tag's done in the last year (lame ambassadors, photo shoots, graffiti painting stunts, etc.).

Moser is being a little naive in their shitting on the fluff in the watch industry. Whether they like it or not, the entire luxury watch industry (including their own brand) is built on said fluff. Are we supposed to believe that watches are irreplaceable tools these days? That the price tag is justified by the innovation alone?

For all that I love about innovation in horology, we all are keenly aware that it is for fun. To some, it's admiration of ability and accomplishment, but to a large portion of the overall luxury watch customer base, the "fun" comes from prestige and status and the ethereal quality of "that guy I look up to has one, and now I want to as well".

Strip it all away, and the entire industry becomes obsolete.

They have been able to carve out a niche in said defecation.
