While not directed at you specifically, I’ve never understood why people write things like this.
What if the only way I’m able to enjoy my watch is by obsessing (I’m not) about how to not scratch the clasp?
To each his own

I'm as anal as the next guy when it comes to keeping my watches in nice shape (and cars, and cameras, and...
) but one thing I don't seem to worry much about are clasps as they're relatively easy to replace if necessary. A watch case, however, is a different matter...

I agree. I have a watchmaker for brush/polish jobs if need be. However, figured I’d check back in here for progress sake

The OCD WISs are great to buy from (like factory fresh) but bad to sell to (a swirl is a gouge).

I obsess about it too. I’m the same way. Working for a railroad my watches get thrashed. Finding watches that either look good scratched or hide the damage well is a plus. The ISOfrane is a great example. It doesn’t seem to show wear and is comfortable at the same time. I just don’t wear bracelets for work. Divers on straps are great for that. Bracelet watches are almost exclusively non work hours.

Point well taken. To each his own. Enjoy what you have and be grateful daily.

I'm gonna carry my watches around in a zip lock bag in my pocket from now on.

I think you need to invent a clasp condom, Eric.

I can just see this being presented on “Shark Tank”.
Maybe Tom Cruise can be the brand spokes person. He seems to like to rock the “case condom” look, so the “clasp condom” is a logical next step.
