Another idea is to put a hand towel under your wrist when you are at your desk. There was even a WUS thread a few years back.

A soft soft. The rough ones may scratch the watch. You could also use one of Terry’s rubber fists.

If I don't squirm will it help me sell the 2 watches I have listed here? Daddy needs a new watch.fastward wrote:Just relax and don’t squirm.

With this crowd, pictures of you and terry’s fist may help seal the deal.

Don’t be offended.
I just saw a thread on USN about someone inquiring about the brand... and I just found out it’s pronounced CLAIR.
And it’s only the second time- your FS thread first- I’ve ever heard of the watch brand.

I learned something new. I’ve been pronouncing it “Clerk” for years. Mostly in sentences like “who the fuck would buy a Clerc?”.

Funny enough I thought about this thread when looking at my omega clasp this morning. First new watch I’ve bought in years and the clasp takes up enough real estate that makes it prime for scratches more so than othersericf4 wrote:Dave sent me a sample of some automotive clear sheet protector that they install on the front ends of cars to protect from rock chips etc. It's easy to cut, super easy to apply and looks good enough that at arm's length I dont even notice it.
I literally took no time and did a half ass slap job and it looks great. I imagine that if I take a few moments next time it will look even better. So yes the derailment was funny as hell and in the end my problem was solved!!;;
Its called Premium Shield paint protection film (you can check it out at premium shield.com). It's thicker then screen protector film. Thx Dave!;

How’s the film holding up?

Frickin great. Still haven't swapped the piece of film out yet. I will at some point. Clasp is still 100%r.palace wrote:Funny enough I thought about this thread when looking at my omega clasp this morning. As a matter of fact I'm gonna throw some on both of my omegas too. One has a few marks I need to brush out first.

Re: Total WUS Question but here it goes...
Hey Erik, when I purchased my latest, the Omega PO 8900 the prior owner had put what looks like phone screen protector on the clasp, I just left it on for now, I'll ask him what exactly he used but to me the desk diving marks don't bother me much as long as they are not major and I'm just usually pretty careful.

Re: Total WUS Question but here it goes...
Just reading this again after just putting a protective film on my wife’s Fitbit. The screen protectorI just put on the screen looks to be just about the perfect size for a watch clasp (maybe 20mm wide by 25mm or so long). If so inclined, I think those screen protectors are pretty cheap, are fairly tough, and come several to a kit, so you’ll have spares (or could do several clasps).
She has a FitBit Charge.

Re: Total WUS Question but here it goes...
The Fitbit screen protector idea is interesting. I’d love to see a picture of the finished product
I would assume the automotive film is more flexible and can form better to the clasp
