Always trying to better pics as with running a blog, the more clear and detailed the better.
New lens and all shot with manual settings.

I was like that 5-6 years ago.
If you are really wanting to do it, I’m sure you can. A DSLR or mirrorless camera can be intimidating but practice, advice from pros and YouTube vids help a lot.

Look really good!

One comment if you don't mind, IMO, the 2nd from the end could have used a bit more depth of field so you can see all the markers clearly. Those macros will surprise you with how shallow things get up close :)

Was going more for the second hand and not the markers. This one was to show the markers. But I get what you are saying.

Up close shots are cool but I bought the macro because it is a better lens than the other two I have and even non close up shots have better detail and definition. A commercial photographer told me he basically shoots all watches now with the macro lens.

Nice kit. Now work on composition and you’re set.

Just a canon 35mm macro lens. (I stated 60mm before but I forgot I bypassed that because I want to get the 100mm macro lens down the road. )
Lighting and adjusting camera of course help as well. Photography is a learning process for sure. Always room for improvement.

Nice shots. I have the 100mm L series Macro lens and it's great. (on a Canon 6D) One day I'd really like to learn how to use it well though. For now I mostly just use some standard settings and take a bunch of pictures until I find one that I like. I'm sure Photoshop would also help, but I don't use it. I use the free software GIMP for some adjustments.

Took this one yesterday.

Cool pictures. Are you using a tripod and light set up?

Nice set up Don! I wish I had the room for a semi permanent set up like that.

I have the 60mm macro from Canon and its nice. I also picked up a 24mm wide angle lens that will work as a macro for watch shots pretty well.

Great pictures.

I see I have a lot to learn about good set-ups.

Yeah, I used to use lights like that with a light box.
But the more I research and the more I spend the better it gets. It’s still not where I want it to be but it’s good for now.
Filtering the light is a big key though, that’s why I got the new lights with the umbrellas. And I’m still learning about ISO, aperture and exposure.
