The date kills it AND it's pretty expensive IIRC. Is it too big as well?

The size is good for me, 39.5mm. I would also have preferred it without a date though. And hand-wound (but still Hi-Beat, a nonexistent movement) if I'm really going for broke.

A little big for me, but not "seiko big".

Kind of boring with the off white / gold combo.

New GS Hi-Beat

This shouldn't be the case, but I also like the old layout much better. Just seems off without the Seiko at the top of these dials.

I'll third that. More expensive and an uglier dial. Sad. BIGLY.

Lol it's not my favorite GS, but I do still love it. I'd like it more with Breguet numerals.

Not my cup of tea.
I'm also among those who vastly preferred the bond-esque

SEIKO
GS
Grand Seiko

Dial

I mean isn't this awesome?

Likewise, not having the Seiko on the dial for Grand Seiko seems strange though I do understand their intent...I'm just not sure it needed to go away.

I remember when I bought my GS through Seiya-san years ago. Now having direct access to GS thru US ADs is definitely a step forward.

As for this boutigue-only model, the number dial isn't bad...but not liking it enough to buy.

I wish GS would execute somethng in other than the dauphine hands to take the brand to a new place.

And a pic of mine..,

Awful-- just don't like it-- the date window is terrible.

I like your honesty. The tall thin dial numbers looks like ass combined with the date wheel font as well. I'm sure it looks a million times better in person though. Seiko pictures are... not good.

Looks like a department store Seiko. Just not impressive.

I've owned 3 Grand Seiko. Beautifully sculpted cases with impressive Zartsu polishing. I don't see it here.

It's a shitty seiko picture. I'm sure it's there.
