Has everyone already heard this cool Bulova news?
Looks like they are going to reissue their 1972 Oceanographer "Devil Diver".

The new watch will be part of their Archive Series Collection, and will have
everything from the unique markers, to black, and red bezel, accents, and
"666 feet" printed on the dial. On top of that, the watch comes on a stainless
stainless steel bracelet, and there is an orange version with unique nato

Shifted said on IG that it's going to be mechanical. I like these and could be in. I hope they keep the hands and markers true to the original.
I'd also consider it with with one of their UHF motors.

Re: New Bulova Devil Diver
I had one of the 72’s and i hope they keep close to the original except in proportions. It was odd and the dial opening appears tiny and making the watch wear very small even at 40. I’d also want 20mm luv width for strap fun. 18 sucked.

The post says there will be an orange one on a special nato strap.pbj204 wrote:

I’m sure this will rub the quartz precision movement and if they keep the size 41-44 I’ll want one too.
Re: New Bulova Devil Diver
There will be a limited version (666 pieces) with orange dial according to the links.pbj204 wrote:

I bought the Bulova Moonwatch (and have a 80s and 70s Bulova) and if they can keep their price point reasonable, that LTD will sell well.
Love the Devil name derived from the 666feet number, a biblical reference for those curious.

"666" mark of the beast. Revelations New Testament. Remember the Omen movies?? Cool branding

Obviously old is now "in", which is good for me. I like these.

Yeah, this could be interesting if they get the details right.
The Bulova Moon didn't really interest me, but this one may.

Is it just me, or has anyone else thought that the minute hand looks too stubby? Other than that, it is killer.

Re: New Bulova Devil Diver
Would love to see this with their sweeping quartz movement.
Re: New Bulova Devil Diver
I was thinking the same thing. Also those end links...they can't possibly fit that poorly in the real watch - unless this is some vintage reference? Other than that it is a good looking watch.gonzomantis wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2017 5:06 pmIs it just me, or has anyone else thought that the minute hand looks too stubby? Other than that, it is killer.

Re: New Bulova Devil Diver
The markers look like they have some sort of crystal or plexi over the lume? Not one I’ve seen before.

Re: New Bulova Devil Diver
That is the vintage watch. Pics of the reissue are not available. I don’t know if they have even started producing it yet. Most likely they will have a few samples for Basel and won’t roll out until the Summer.straps68 wrote:I was thinking the same thing. Re: New Bulova Devil Diver
I had the '68 vintage 666 and flipped it. I would consider jumping on the new one. Hopefully 42 or 43 mm case.

Re: New Bulova Devil Diver
This is definitely a cool one to bring back.
Those raised clear plexi hour markers will probably look interesting when the lume is glowing. Kind of like little glowing domes.
Hopefully the overall size won't bee too small and they bring it up to modern proportions.
