VC Overseas
I thought I’d asked about this here before but I can’t find my post, so if I did I’m probably dumb and suffering from short-term nmemnory loss.
What’re y’all thoughts on the older model VC Overseas? The kinda-sorta Royal Oak-ish one? I see one for sale right now and I have a tingle...

The older one? I read the bracelets have clasp issues unless fixed during the service. It will break or something's quite fragile..?

Re: VC Overseas
i bought zack's white dial one a while back. flipped it to kris. for me, it's kinda the one that got away.
it's a stellar piece, wears very comfortably, is very versatile, and is NOT ubiquitous.
buy it before i find the fs post...

My opinion of this matches my posts in the GP thread, only less intensely. This, at least, isn't super ugly. Definitely check the service costs if you're thinking of long term ownership - I've heard crazy numbers.

Re: VC Overseas
It's very nice except for the date and the length of the minute hand.
Re: VC Overseas
Mark is selling one. I'd love to own one.

This. I seem to remember a thread where someone said it was like $3-4k to service one of these.JP Chestnut wrote:My opinion of this matches my posts in the GP thread, only less intensely. Ouch. Of course I rarely keep anything long enough to have it serviced. Guess it would depend on whether it needed something out of the gate.streetracer101 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 7:13 amThis. Here's where I saw it: http://www.lionseek.com/watches/brand/v ... 600-c13ead
You'd have to be on smack to pay 1/2 the value of a watch on service that is needed every 4 yrs. That one also has no complications of significance, so chronograph service is probably more.

Re: VC Overseas
I thought I wanted one of these for awhile - amazing movement, strap system is awesome, wears like a dream, but from a design standpoint, VC really needs to cool it with the Maltese Crosses on this thing. Borderlines medieval knight man jewelry, and not in a good way.
On the flip side, I also heard they’re headed for a significant price increase as VC is trying to pace with the Nautilus madness somehow. Could be a good time to buy if you’re going on a crusade sometime soon.

While I normally agree to not buy a substitute when possibly, I do like this on its own. Plus the $6k plus difference even at used prices.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 8:35 amHonestly, I'd just get an AP. This reminds of me generic soda.
This is an instance where I wish I could rent one for a month. Mark, want to loan it to me?

I love the styling on it and almost bought one, but decided on the AP RO instead. If the service cost comments are true, I dodged a bullet!

You can't argue with that logic. You just have to hope that the movement/crown doesn't shit the bed while you own it.outtatime wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 8:37 amWhile I normally agree to not buy a substitute when possibly, I do like this on its own. Love mine. Prefer it over my royal oak, though I am in the minority. Very comfortable. Great lume. Outstanding finish (not AP level).
