Re: DWC BOD Special Christmas Gift
Seriously...originated from a thread where a newbie was being given a hard time and I was cranky and said this place isn’t a “Merry Band of of Dickheads”.
In usual DWC fashion....it stuck

Nice gesture.

Then Mike (river rat) also took it.

now, I'm hungrySeppia wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2017 1:03 amNo you just keep it in the box at room temperature.
It's good till late march - April even if it has no preservative, but being a baked cake its quality goes down with time (it gets dry).
My recommendation is you open it up for Christmas or any time you have a nice dinner around that date.
Great trick for the leftovers: slice it and freeze the slices.
Then you can use it as toast, just heat it in the oven or under the grill directly from frozen.
It will be like a richer sweet toast.

Nothing like any fruit cake I ever ate. This was great thanks again. This was tasty and soft. Now American fruit cake like a hard brick and no one wants to eat. The Italian type is another story it was dam good my sister loved it. How do Americans ruin a fruit cake when they make them

IMHO Italians make the finest food on earth, usually out of the simplest ingredients.
