Remember to put it in the oven at low temp (like 130-150F) for about 10 minutes before you cut it.

I was wondering how long does it last before you have to eat it was thinking about using it around christmas day for some thing differnt and should it be refrigerated until then ?

No you just keep it in the box at room temperature.
It's good till late march - April even if it has no preservative, but being a baked cake its quality goes down with time (it gets dry).
My recommendation is you open it up for Christmas or any time you have a nice dinner around that date.
Great trick for the leftovers: slice it and freeze the slices.
Then you can use it as toast, just heat it in the oven or under the grill directly from frozen.
It will be like a richer sweet toast.

This is amazing. Huge, Light and fluffy out of the box and we tried it toasted and it was great, too

Nothing like any fruit cake I ever ate. This was great thanks again. This was tasty and soft. Now American fruit cake like a hard brick and no one wants to eat. The Italian type is another story it was dam good my sister loved it. How do Americans ruin a fruit cake when they make them
