New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
Well, it won’t ever be an IWC, but for $472, big ‘ol bang for the buck.

I was so disappointed in that watch. I love the way it looks in photos, but it feels like a toy.

IWC's approach to TI and ceramic is so behind the curve. It's pretty embarrassing. This is a basic watch, but it's sold at a basic watch price by a basic watch brand.

How is the lume?
Anyone has also the regular version for comparison?

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
The lume plots are small, but effective. I literally just woke up in a hotel and couldn’t see the clock. Picked up the hammy and I was surprised to easily make out the time.....of course I’m used to dead lume in vintage.
Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
Mine came in earlier today...keeping it on the original strap for now.
The watch lugs are a little longer than I expected...or the springbar holes are slightly further out, anyway. If anyone has plans to pair this with a standard strap, be prapared for a slightly wider gap. Of course, that means it can accept a thicker strap...not that it needs one.
True to size at 38mm, but the wrist presense is a touch bigger...it's perfect, I think. 29mm on the dial, 31mm on the crystal.
I never owned the original so can't compare it that way. Cheap fun as these go...comparatively.

Looks great. I always wore mine (the date version, but same case) on natos, so the longer lugs never presented a problem. In fact, I like the 48mm LTL, gives the watch a nice presence.Denizen wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2018 1:19 pmMine came in earlier today...keeping it on the original strap for now.

BTW, I spoke to a US Hamilton AD today and these are not expected to hit the US until Summer. They will be first shown at Baselworld before being rolled out to dealers.

Look good on you. The lugs look a little long for me, but it could be the picture.

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
Thanks JP. It's partly the picture, and also I think my wrist has gotten even smaller. It's 48mm LTL, so about the same as a Rolex Sub. Kind of long for a 38mm watch.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2018 9:15 amLook good on you. The lugs look a little long for me, but it could be the picture.

A little long, but pretty similar to my Mark XV if I remember correctly. How's the thickness?jswing wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2018 9:30 amThanks JP. It lacks girth at 9.5mm thick.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2018 9:31 amA little long, but pretty similar to my Mark XV if I remember correctly. Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
Thanks! I only really like natos on certain watches, but this watch to me is made for them. I have a box full of Terry's natos, but this is my first "Shiznit", and it's very luxurious as natos go.
Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
They are super sturdy as well. I wear my 42mm Khaki Field with them most days for work and even through they are softer, they just don’t fray like most NATOs do over time. I have yet to have to take a lighter to any of them.

Great to hear that. I don't wear one strap long enough anymore. I just rotate them.Torrid wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2018 10:00 amThey are super sturdy as well. Looks good. Congrats!
The longer lugs of the Smiths I had made that 39 piece work for my large wrist. I think this looks perfect on you.
