The vintage styling is a lot more harmonious on the brown one. Do it. It seems cool.

I'm going for the brown I think.

You should get rid of that ugly black dial Planet Ocean. If you do, let me know and I’ll help dispose of that eyesore.

If I decide to get rid of it you'll be the first to know.

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
I’ve been looking at those too, but worried the Small 38mm case width vs long 48mm lugs may not suit me. But the more I see pics the harder it is to resist, like the ones below on canvas. Of the two based on pics only I lean to brown but black looks good too.
I may have to go try it on at my AD if he has them

Well, if anyone should get the brown, post pics and feedback.
My black dial ain't going anywhere and I dig it. On NATO and hand-wind == pluses for me.

the brown looks good, been wearing it on a bunch of straps, the size is fine, the stock strap is kinda odd, didn't like it:

I finally got to try this on the other day and, sadly, I think it wears a bit small on me - smaller than my Mark XV. It's a really nice piece and a bargain but it isn't a good fit for me

It will definitely be too small for me, then. Too bad as I really like the look.logan2z wrote:I finally got to try this on the other day and, sadly, I think it wears a bit small on me - smaller than my Mark XV. It's a really nice piece and a bargain but it isn't a good fit for me

I'm pretty disappointed as I really wanted it to work for me. But it's worth trying on if you get a chance.CGSshorty wrote: ↑Sun Jun 03, 2018 10:46 amIt will definitely be too small for me, then. Dang. That sucks. I was looking to get one.
Hope I get to try one locally. Definitely not ordering without trying it on first.

I think it wears large for 38 with the long lugs but that’s just me. So far I’m digging it as a grab and go. Keep forgetting to wind it.

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
I had my Mk. XV with me for comparison and the Hamilton felt smaller. It could be the combination of the thinner case and the paper thin NATO that the Hamilton comes on, but it definitely had little presence on my wrist

I bet the mark xv dial is larger. Those mugs look long though.

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
the smaller bezel on the iwc makes the dial huge:

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue
I often wonder how much this watch would be liked if it were a micro.
My guess it would ripped to shreds from the ratio of 38mm to the lug length of what looks like 55mn, to the color of the lume, to how crowded the dial is and how close the 24 hour track is to the other numerals. And it's so dumb like you can't add quickly 12 to the time and know that 11: 25 PM is 23:25, the whole world is doing it.
That crown is too big , sticking out too much, lug holes are drilled in a way where I bet there's a gap that Nomos would be proud of.
Not following the mass Hysteria , to be honest. And Im usually on board with DWC latest drool of the month, well except for that doxa obviously that had a dime size dial in bloated case.
