Grand Seiko Event 11/15/17

Post by Knome » Wed Nov 15, 2017 11:55 pm

So this event was a 2-parter. I was starving and got off work too late so I missed the first part where they had a small group of invitees visit the very first Grand Seiko boutique that just opened on Rodeo Drive. Apparently Grand Seiko is now an independent brand from Seiko... Totally didn't know that going into tonight.

They then moved the party to a small club close by where more drinks and food we're served along with live music and of course more watches to look at. They had the LE peakcock hi-beat GMT on display as well.

I'm starting to understand why they upped prices so aggressively on new models.

That "BGE" dial looks incredible! The dials really set GS apart. Almost makes sense to rebrand all the Boutiques as "Grand Seiko Boutiques". It's what they already display and sell, by and large.

the peacock dial is really intricate in person, they did an excellent job.
They went all out for this event, I didn't expect Grand Seiko to throw down such a crazy party. Totally caught off guard.

One of the coolest cats I've met in this hobby for sure. I swing by and shoot the shit at the boutique whenever I have a chance. There's never a shortage of great watches and Japanese whisky there

We need to get there for a visit one of these days.
