Did Rolex have a price increase? I haven't seriously looked probably since earlier in the summer, but you could get BNIB Subs for $7500...a two-tone for $10,500...BLNR for $8750...etc. Now they seem to be charging 10%+ more for BNIB models. Did something happen? Kicking myself for not getting a two-tone earlier and saving $2k.

Consensus seems to be that deliveries have slowed to authorized dealers. Resellers are capitalizing. BNIB 114060 are sometimes now listed above retail from them. I have been tracking since I kinda want to pick another one up, but not at those prices.

Correct. A particularly well known one went from 6600->7100->7400 for BNIB within a month or so. But hey, supply and demand and all that.

That’s what I was wondering. As far as I can tell there hasn’t been a price increase.

My only theories were that there had been an increase, or at least an increase to dealer cost and therefore slimmer margin. Or they were cracking down on the backdoor shenanigans.

I think there are just less out there right now. I don't have firsthand experience, but multiple reports on TRF about AD's not having as readily a supply of the popular references. The LVC in particular is bananas right now.

It kind of makes me wonder if they're not readying their new movements for their mainstream (e.g. Subs) models and are just burning through their inventory. That would be fine with me, I'd prefer the newer movement if I were to get something. I hate when there's a newer/better movement out but it's not in a model I want. (Looking at you, Omega...)

I get it with SDC43 or Ceramic Daytona. Otherwise the only reason to go to TRF is to save money. Because for 7500 I'll just get it from my local AD with US warranty and if something goes wrong I'd just drop it off at AD and not worry if RSC will cover my Canadian, Israeli or Italian Rolex. For 6300 I'd take that chance

Have the new movements proven reliable? The DD40 movement wasn't without problems.

They DO sit on them forever, Sdwatches in particular. That guy holds stock for years.
