Swatch NJ service story.
Swatch NJ service story.
I just need to talk up this service story real quick.
I’ve had my BP around 2.5 years now. Had to send it back for a date malfunction a few months after purchase. Came back 3 weeks later fixed. The website was very updated and even had tracking when it shipped. (Beat the shit out of my Panerai service experience)
Fast forward another 26 months (two months out of service warranty) my date window would get stuck switching at midnight. I would have to manually wind it the rest of the way. Also, my bezel was rotating freely in both directions.
I sent it back out of warranty to swatch stating these issues.
They gave me a full service and replaced my bezel teeth fo freeeeeeeeee.

They received it July 28th. I got it back today Oct 12th for what it’s worth.
Re: Swatch NJ service story.
That's great. Maybe they're focusing more on customer service. I had to service one of my Breguets last year, also a couple of months out of warranty, and they did it for free as well.
Re: Swatch NJ service story.
So glad it's back Nick
Great service indeed

Re: Swatch NJ service story.
That's encouraging to hear, and much better than my horror stories I went through twice with them (2013 and 2015).
Re: Swatch NJ service story.
Love that watch. I guess that’s a common bezel issue? I think I’ve read about a few others having that problem as well.

I’ve read that somewhere also. I rarely use the bezel. Maybe only a couple times out of boredom. Seems like a pretty lame design flaw for a five figure MSRP watch. \_(ツ)_/¯
Re: Swatch NJ service story.
Congrats Nick. Can't beat free, very nice service gesture considering it's only 2 months out of warranty - and befitting such a premium product. Hopefully it'll run a long time before it needs anything.
My watch lust glands start twitching every time I see a pic of your TTAL

Re: Swatch NJ service story.
That's great that the service experience was positive but why is a "new" watch, of this calibre, having these issues?!
Whisky has killed more men than bullets, but most men would rather be full of whisky than bullets.

Also a concern of mine. I’ve asked around to other people using this 1315 movement. Seems to be just me.JDC222 wrote:That's great that the service experience was positive but why is a "new" watch, of this calibre, having these issues?!
Service sheet said movement was dry.
I remember my first service was because the crown would only pull out to change the date. I couldn’t pull it out further to change the time. This current service was a sticking date.
Hopefully everything is copacetic now
Re: Swatch NJ service story.
That's great! I've only heard the negative stories about Swatch NJ, so it's nice to hear the great stories for a change.
Re: Swatch NJ service story.
When mine crapped out just 2 years short of service warranty the service paperwork also said the movement was dry. Odd, since modern lubricants are what’s pushed service intervals to 5 years.nweash wrote:Also a concern of mine. I’ve asked around to other people using this 1315 movement. Thanks Rob! It is something special for sure. I’m praying it lasts a decent interval this time. Don’t see why it can’t. I only wear the damn thing 1-2 times a week!raf42 wrote:Congrats Nick. I wonder if that’s their default excuse for some faulty bullshit. I wonder if their crowns inherently suck. I wonder a lot of things.
In the end I can’t be mad when they’re so willing to try and fix it gratis.

Awesome news!! There 1315 in my Bathyscaphe has been perfect since I got it a couple years ago. Glad to hear BP is providing exceptional service like that!
