Really torn on this one. Is it even an upgrade if I decide to move to this from my '02 T dial automatic?
Unless you enjoy the tritium look, then it would be an upgrade. Even the MK2 version is an upgrade, with improved lume and sapphire crystal. I don't see paying almost $3k for a CWC though.
Yeah, that price is insane. More than the Doxa Black Lung reissue.

Yeah but you will be able to see the CWC dial

The Doxa reissue makes me laugh. Most of the people buying it are the same ones who bought the 300 and flipped it a few weeks later because the dial was too small. I thought about it for a minute, but then I realized I'd be in that category too if I did Image

Is Mike Kobold in charge of pricing at CWC now?

Well, as an owner of a recent CWC I can assure you MK isn’t in charge of their quality control.

Based on my experience, I’d pay $3 for the CWC before I’d pay $3k for any Kobold.

The mismatched lume kills it for me.

There is a sucker born every minute.

$2600 for that? No friggin' way in hell. It might be a nice watch for $800, but at that price it is insulting.

And what is with the mismatched hour marker and hands lume????? Is that intentional or just really poor quality control planning. Heck, my $600 Ancon Sea Shadow got the lume right.

Just imagine what they could charge, or find people willing to pay, by printing "PADI" on the dial.

What about re-lume a normal CWC diver auto to vintage color? Would that be close to the re-issue but less $$$$$$$...
