Yikes. I like the royal navy diver as much as the next guy, but that price is a bit hard to swallow.

Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
Cool watch. Would be even nicer if the lume on the hands matched the dial. I seem to recall the Stowa 90th Anniversary Flieger with Old Radium lume having the same 'issue' so maybe that's by design.
Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
The case is actually different than the other CWC’s, having been specially made for this model. Besides the full polish you can see it in the crown guards, as they come to a “V” instead of a “U”.
I debated waiting for this one, but seeing it here and noticing the price is more than double the price of my MK2 with sapphire, I’m glad I got the MK2.

Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
I really like it, but I can't justify the additional cost over the MK2. Be nice if they incorporate the lumed bezel in a future model, maybe an MK3?
Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
$2600.00 US that's more than I ever paid for a real vintage issued watch to justify ever buying one.
Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
I like it- but that price is stupid. I $2600 on a CWC? Crazy.

I like it, but feel like it looks like a $400 micro. You'd have to be a major enthusiast to pay $2600 for one.

It refers to the progression of models or specific components. For example, a Rolex DRSD has several different dials, all referred to as Mark (MK) 1, MK2, etc. In this case, CWC has two different versions of their SBS diver. MK1 the original and MK2 the newer one.kempoman wrote:Gents, if i could ask what does MK stand for? I notice MK for watches as well.
Edit: IWC’s pilot watches are a prime example. Mark XVIII, etc.

Thanks Todd that clears the cloud. I notice MK for cars as well.Chocodove wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2017 6:54 pmIt refers to the progression of models or specific components. Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
It certainly wouldn’t be worth $2500-3000 to me, but after owning a couple CWC RN Diver models I am comfortable saying they are not the typical micro. Quality, fit, finish, bezel action, etc. are all stellar.streetracer101 wrote:I like it, but feel like it looks like a $400 micro. You'd have to be a major enthusiast to pay $2600 for one.

As for what does the actual "M" and "K" stand for? I thought I read somewhere that it meant Mod ____?kempoman wrote:Gents, if i could ask what does MK stand for? I notice MK for watches as well.
Tried to look it up and this is all I could find-

I don't get it. I dig the design, but the price makes no sense to me.

At that price point, I much prefer the Watchco Omega Seamaster 300’s.
Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
Man, that’s an optimistic price.

1: MK II = wait, wait, wait and then wait some more for a homage of sorts.kempoman wrote:Gents, if i could ask what does MK stand for? I notice MK for watches as well.
2: MK = M Kobold = some nice designs but God help you if you need warranty, service or factory mods.

Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
I hope so. I've seen some damn impressive micros, so that's not a dig. I'm just saying that there's nothing special that I can see in that pic. Logo looks cheap, case finishing looks basic, lume doesn't match, dial doesn't have applied indexes, bezel isn't made of unobtainium, etchoppyjr wrote:It certainly wouldn’t be worth $2500-3000 to me, but after owning a couple CWC RN Diver models I am comfortable saying they are not the typical micro. Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
I got a older CWC quartz diver the movement ring was cheap plastic not Steller in my book. It was cracked from old age. When you change the battery the dust cover you got to be careful removing it and putting it back on due to the cheap plastic movement ring. Hopefully the movement ring not plastic on this new remake.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2017 7:04 pmIt certainly wouldn’t be worth $2500-3000 to me, but after owning a couple CWC RN Diver models I am comfortable saying they are not the typical micro. Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
MK is an abreiviation for “Mark”. The Brits call the first edition of something the Mark I. So the next model is s Mark II, Mark III, etc.

Really torn on this one. Is it even an upgrade if I decide to move to this from my '02 T dial automatic?

Re: CWC royal navy diver reissue out
Unless you enjoy the tritium look, then it would be an upgrade. Even the MK2 version is an upgrade, with improved lume and sapphire crystal. I don't see paying almost $3k for a CWC though.
