Seiko 62MAS Restoration
Hey fellas,
Here's a project I'm working on. It was in a sorry state. The dial had some kind of film on it.
After a little rubbing with a q-tip there's hope!
A little more rubbing this time with a little bit of water...
Best I could do
Stay tuned for more xxx

You do good work, but man the lume that Seiko used to use aged horribly.
I had some 6105's that aged like shit.

Re: Seiko 62MAS Restoration
Already a huge improvement. You planning to do anything else as part of the restoration?

Re: Seiko 62MAS Restoration
The hour markers would clean up if you rubbed the flaking lacquer off with some pegwood. Also, I'd remove the Seiko logo and clean the dial there too as it stands out a bit. They usually come off pretty easily and are easy enough to refit.

Here's some more pics
Re: Seiko 62MAS Restoration
looks great, well done. Jack iww says the corrosion is caused by the reaction of the lume material to the steel surrounds/hands, that's why many manufacturers switched to white gold for the surrounds/hands.
