Yet Another Hodinkee LE

Post by logan2z » Thu Oct 05, 2017 8:01 am

This time it's a GMT watch from Laurent Ferrier. Blue enamel dial, titanium case. 15 pieces, $60K a piece. Sorry guys but it's already sold out ;)

All that money and they couldn't make an appropriately sized date window?

The window at 9 is the home time display, but point taken.

Now I'm positive that Hodinkee pre-sells these. No way a watch like that would sell out instantly upon introduction.

rather than showing the date, or the date-the day before-the day after, we chose to show the date and a partial before and after date.....STUPID>

Well they figured out the formula to be able to sell whatever watch it is for redonculous prices, no matter how nice or ugly it may be.

not a date window...numeric gmt, hence why it is useful to see where it is in relation to the next and previous numerals

That would drive me nuts like a broken date window. IWC UTC had a more elegant solution

even if not a date, and its a GMT it still looks dumb.....It could be a countdown timer to til the end of the world and it would look dumb.

I like LF watches, but not enough to ever buy one, even if I could afford them.
