Evant Tropic Diver 300 lug bar hole position comparison
I've been waiting for someone to post side by side Tropic Diver 300 1st edition vs 2nd edition This will be good for now.
1st edition(stolen from net):
2nd edition(mine):
I don't have the 1st edition in the flesh. Based on the photos above, the changes to lug bar holes positioning on the Fume Blue Tropic 300 is quite significant to me.

Wow. And it's still below the lowest edge of the midcase.

If you wanted the lug at that line, the bottom of the lug bars would have to be off the "ground" by 5-8mm. With the bottom of the lug bars 2mm below the caseback and how the lug bars turn downwards, it hugs small wrists ideally IMO.
Essentially, you would prefer the lugs off the "ground" to have the lug bars where you prefer them so it wouldn't look odd. (See Aegir below).
JP, Even the Aegir has the lug bars at or below the lowest edge of the mid case, but no one ever mentioned this,

Also, there was just enough space between the case and lug bars to pull a nylon strap through.

Two reasons for that id imagine. The lugs are less spindly which makes it less obvious, and the caseback bulges more.Axelay2003 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2017 4:34 pmIf you wanted the lug at that line, the bottom of the lug bars would have to be off the "ground" by 5-8mm. I've never seen a watch that shows it's entire midcase height at the strap when it's on the wrist. They may be out there, but it's the exception.

It's well executed and looks the business on an assortment of different straps. At sub $500 it also offers a very good value.
