Gave up fitting this solid end-link bracelet a number of weeks ago. Stewed for a while. Fretted over pricey Bergeon tools. Settled on a cheap knock-off tool and bought a magnifier to help where my eyes don't want to focus. Called in the Toxic tool to lend a hand. Victory !!
I think the endlinks cover the lug holes a tiny bit. Kind of looks that way using the higher magnification dot. I was able to get standard springbars to seat by pushing them in, but could only seat a fat-end in one of four holes.

The worst I have ever messed with was a gen 1 halios tropik. I bought it used off WUS. When it arrived only one half of both spring bars were seated. The lugs were pretty scratched up too. I guess the guy I bought it from said F this piece of ..! and just sold it off.
I took the better part of a night and much cussing to get it on..
