Watch with GPS that works while diving?
Watch with GPS that works while diving?
Are there watches out there that will actually provide GPS data while diving at depths up to 50 feet? Something that would allow one to mark spots while diving?

I've never seen one. Scubapro and Suunto definitely do not make one.
The closest to it is this unit. I do not believe the GPS works under water though.

I pretty sure only extremely low frequencies propagate below the surface, especially in salt water.

any GPS might work to mark where you go into the water and where you come out, but i don't know of any that will work underwater. and that's actual GPS, not small enough to fit in a watch.

My wife does Ironmans and routinely does 2+ hour open water swims, so I know there are multiple Garmins available that are waterproof and track swimming routes, but I have no idea how this translates to diving.

I recommend contacting a few vendors directly and offer to share results with them if they have a watch or device that will track location at depth.

Only reason I would need one is so that Quint could hunt down and kill the shark that ate my ass on a dive.

GPS doesn't work underwater. The comment above about needing ULF to penetrate very far is correct. Even then the equipment demands needed to achieve longer distances are immense.
