I've never regretted being on vacation...

Post by dukerules » Sun Jul 30, 2017 6:08 am

... Until now. Something sweet (one of the first in the US) with my name on it is waiting at a certain boutique, and I have to wait until next week for it :crybaby:

Yep, one of these. Controversial for many reasons, I know, but I'm in love. I think.

Looks great Rahul
Interesting that everyone (myself included) was picking on subdials of Zenith being too close to the center and all that but no one picks on Speedy having the same look :)

It happens all the time, we put a lot of emphasis on one watch's detal while the other one is DWC darling with the same flaws :)
I guess black on black it's not as evident but #speedytuesday is glaring. I'm personally okay with that after all, as long as the subdials don't cross each other.

My point was that the zenith is worse by a pretty significant margin.

That particular model maybe but some are fine and no worse than Speedy, IMO

if this were Zenith we'd be all be yuck this yuck that, dials are too close to each other, all dials are too close to the center, yada yada...Yet since it's a SPEEDY, oh wow, oh my, #want #need, classic, must have, no collection should go wihout, etc.

There's actually a reason why I could have reserved one of these but chose not to...

Not surprisingly, this has ideal spacing

Yeah, this watch sucks. Who the hell wants a Speedmaster anyway? I'll just pop into my local AD and pick up a ceramic Daytona instead

You could probably trade it for a Daytona or some sort.

This may be the first Nishanting of an incoming thread I've seen at DWC :naughty:

Great watch Rahul, congrats. Makes me regret letting my reservation go.

It's all good. I think the reverse panda layout emphasizes the closeness of the subdials. Not a problem for me, but I know some dislike the look.

If I don't love the watch, we'll see about making a little profit on a sale, and perhaps putting that into a fund for a ceramic Daytona which might arrive in a few years. For real. The white dial ceramic Daytona is my current grail. And I love my FOIS, so will have my Speedmaster fix.
