The New Sea-Dweller - pricing & availability

Post by Heuerville » Sun Jul 09, 2017 3:18 pm

You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on new Rolex models, and the way Rolex may supply AD's etc.
(also, I apologise if this has been discussed before).

I happened to be on the Rolex website today, just having a look around.
I was having a good look at the new SD, the 43mm with the red script. Says RRP is £8350.
I then went and had a look on Chrono24 to see how much cheaper it would be.. and they all seem to be more money, most around to £12-14k.

Am I missing something? Is there a supply issue which causes this. If I walked into my nearest AD could I just order one at £8350?

Demand exceeds supply. It will sell at a discount in a year or two.

This. They've been dropping since release. I've seen at least two sell at RRP very recently. Of course, you're in the U.K. And that screws everything Rolex-wise.

People who paid msrp plus $3,000 thinking they were getting the next Daytona... :nutkick:

I think this will be my first Rolex. I hope it becomes incredibly unpopular and the price plummets.

Let's also hope someone comes up with a cyclops fix.

Perfect. I'll wait for the price to drop, then like aim for a used one (since the warranty will be void with that mod).

Anything that flies, floats or goes fast is a money pit.

If I was into boats, I'd join one of those boat rental clubs. Then the only thing you worry about is where you're going and putting fuel in the tank.
