Every year fewer new watches that I want are released. Every year the old watches that I want get more expensive and harder to find. I'm finding enjoying my watches to be more... enjoyable, than obsessively hunting for the next must have.
^ this for me as well
I've had the same 3-watch collection for probably the last 18-24 months and nothing new has really jumped out at me.

I've felt the same way for a few years now. The huge price jump has made the hobby less enjoyable for me. Combine that with the massive amount of new models being produced (and then dumped on grey market websites) that are less than inspiring and it really is a bummer.
I've managed to get down to 2 watches. A 20 year old Tudor Tiger Chronograph (gold/steel) on a leather strap that I wear daily and n 12 year old Speedy Pro that was my wedding gift from my wife.
I do need some type of a "beater" to wear while on vacation and changing kids diapers. I have this problem where I will start off with a $200 budget and then manage to keep upselling myself until I'm looking at $2,500 "beaters".

Since Christmas I’ve been on a selling/ buying binge. Reducing the 14 piece collection down to 5-7. I can’t justify any more. They won’t get worn enough. My tastes have changed too, from Seiko for 40+ years to Sinn’s.
