Black Breitling.. what are my options?

Post by Heuerville » Thu Jun 29, 2017 5:24 pm

I've done a lot of digging, but there are so many models & variants, and it's confusing as f**k.

If I want a used Black (PVD-esk) Breitling, what are the best options?
I like the new 44mm Blackbird (I don't want anything over 44mm), but are there any others for around the $3k mark?

Eric had a hot one, it had yellow accents. Yellow bird or something.

^ careful Stewart!

Hey, are you looking only a chronographs? If not, Breitling came out with a new "affordable" black composite quartz model. $2k retail, likely less "street price". Apparently the strap has quick connects and Case has built in lug bars.

I have the 48mm Blackbird Avenger and it wears smaller due to the curved short lugs. Just a little larger than my 41mm AP RO 15400 or 42mm Rolex Exp II.

I didn't know that one was 48mm. At the gtg it wore like a 44-45mm at the most. And it was a great looking watch to boot. :salute:

Yeah. I tried it on for grins thinking "no way in hell" based on diameter, but damn it looked great. I prefer this one over the 44mm version - the red outline of the date window is distracting to me.

A bit of a necro-thread ... but that is the Skyland LE, not the Super Avenger. The Super Avenger is larger (48mm I think) and has some red hash marks around the minute chrono sub-dial.

Thx. I knew there was a 45 and 48, but didn't realize they had different names also. Will help the search for a new one... ;)
