Hodinkee 'Friday Live'

Post by logan2z » Thu Apr 20, 2017 5:09 pm

Hodinkee is launching a new weekly live video feature called 'Friday Live'. This week they'll be talking with new IWC CEO Christoph Grainger. Could be interesting...

Two observations:

1) The whole thing felt super awkward to me. The 'hosts' didn't seem at all comfortable in this setting.

2) Hodinkee continues to state that the Mark series of pilot's watches uses Sellita movements. I thought that they had already corrected this error and it had been confirmed that the Mark series was using ETA 2892-A2 movements?

Not that I care anymore but I believe the smaller 36mm fliegers have the Sellita which is where the confusion started for the XVIII which still has the 30110?

Right, the XVIII has the c30110 = ETA2892-A2

I just tried to watch this and 5 minutes into I realized I am not the type of person they are making this for. Pretty cool though, and the managing editor either had a boner or he borrowed his sisters pants.

I only watched long enough to snicker at the boner.

I guess if I was going to do a video like this I would go into it with the mindset of "I am gonna bone YOU!"

If dude wasn't doing this silly hipster thing and wearing a boys small in, well, everything, he wouldn't have the boner effect. Or maybe he actually had a boner. Talk about bad timing.

"A" for effort I guess, but agree that it seemed awkward. The hosts aren't ready for prime time.
