Breakfast ideas? No eggs or dairy

Post by toxicavenger » Wed Apr 19, 2017 1:42 pm

Yes I know "sausage" is one of the suggestions. And I have that covered. But I took an inflammation test and it came back with a few things that I need to eliminate from my diet to see if they are causing inflammation/allergies. Here are they are: cranberries/mushrooms/whole eggs/whey/dairy are the ones I remember.

I eat eggs everyday (yes I am raising some chickens right now :banghead:), but I want to get rid of this yearly congestion issues. So I am taking eggs out of the equation and then slowly introduce them to see what happens.

One of my favorite meals are avocado toast with lime/sea salt. So I have that one. Any other suggestions?

Asian options abound without eggs or dairy. Was whey a typo or is it wheat?

I have some at home I need to check.

My wife does smoothie bowls all the time, but I don't feel like I still have my manhood if I started eating them. :banghead:

Granola plus add almonds cashews pecans is very filling, so long as you like to eat nuts.

Beans and greens. I'm not kidding.

I did the "4 hour body" diet and the breakfast was basically eggs, beans and any greens you wanted. I don't love the "greens" part, but still eat scrambled eggs and beans almost every day.

I've shifted to eating almost no meat and drinking at least two vegetable/fruit blends a day. Absolutely life changing. I'm 54 years old and have 5% body fat and incredible energy. We are killing ourselves in the US eating the crap we eat. 610,000 people die of heart disease every year and for half of them, the first sign of heart disease was a heart attack.

Btw, it wasn't hard to make the shift, just requires a little discipline.

Lmao, sorry for the rant, but if you're serious about fueling your body with what it needs, shifting to greens is the only real way to do it.... off my soapbox now ;)

Cold curry + rice with a tortilla / wrap bread or on toast. Wonderful!

I get some microwave curries, cook, and thoroughly mix the rice in, bang it in a tupperware tub and whack in the fridge.. great anytime!

I did all greens for 6 months. I could crap through a straw. :crybaby: When I started back eating some meat and beans I had no issues. We still drink vegetable smoothies everyday. I just didn't have as much energy when it was only juice, it seemed to burn off to fast. But it is different for my wife, it gives her fuel all day long. We used Chris Karr recipes http://kriscarr.com/recipes/ .

Some people (Darin told me about this) believe in certain blood types work best with different styles of food. I tend to believe that.

But I totally agree, people in the US are totally killing them self with processed crap. We cut that out 5 years ago. We do vegetarian meals 5 days a week. No soy/processed/tofu crap either. More of a paleo style.

Cereal and almond milk. I put protein whey in mine. Not sure what protein alternative you could use. Coconut oil in coffee if you drink it.

Also.. this is really nice..

Toast topped with a thin layer of pate, with some very thinly chopped mushrooms on top - if you slice 'em really thin, you can microwave them in 30 secs while the bread is toasting. Edit - shit, sorry, just noticed mushrooms are off the menu. you could try bacon bits instead!

Another..
A very thin burger (just get a ball of mince and flatten to super thin - pan fry for 1 min each side), topped with crushed avocado, wrapped in lettuce. Add tomato if you wish. (sun dried are nice too)

Toast English muffins with peanut butter and honey

Fruit smoothie - I do either banana / strawberry or banana peanut butter with some protein powder and ice to thicken it. I usually add greek yogurt, but you can skip it since you are cutting out dairy too.

Some restaurants will sell their curries by the tub. Just need to ask.

Might sound weird, but I like Salmon on days when I'm tired of eggs and bacon. Speaking of, did y'all catch that story a few days ago about the last survivor from the 19th-c dying? Some Italian lady born in 1899 just kicked at 117... all she ate was eggs.

Go figure. Otherwise listen to Paul; he gave me some advice that helped me clear my "1/2 Murph" goal; I'm pretty sure he knows a thing or two about all this.

I drink a fruit smoothie every morning. It has helped me cut my coffee intake in half and gives me a ton of energy.

i'm not an oatmeal fan in general, but the wife made some steel cut oatmeal the other day with some dehydrated blueberries in it and it was surprisingly good.

This and the injury thread. We really are elderly if we're hanging out together singing the praises of oatmeal.

Hey all you DWCers in your 20s: I apologize for harshing your mellow. Someday you too will be crapping through a straw. You're welcome.

I cut out breakfast meats recently and I just do eggs and oatmeal while at work, if I'm at home it may be a little different and I'll have that or yogurt and granola.

The only suggestions I have with your limitations are oatmeal and granola.

I believe what Paul is doing is working great for him, but it may not work for everyone as T said. Lean meats, chicken and fish have a lot of nutrition in them.

Oh, and T bag, are you doing this because of sinus and allergy issues? If so... are you seeing a doctor or a chiropractor?
I know there is some truth in proven inflammatory foods- but I've heard some pretty silly stories about people getting tested and avoiding certain foods. Sometimes avoiding an inflammatory food that's good for you is not a good decision.

Those restrictions are ridiculous. Let's cut the crap. Double martini with Bombay Sapphire.
No, it's not Tourettes.
