Great looking Squale
Great looking Squale
I love this color combination on the 60 Atmos Squalematic. I'm pretty sure my mom dressed me in brown and orange for much of the 70s.

Not a dial color you see too often and I like the sunburst.
And I know this has been discussed, but is there a specific reason they left off the 29 minute marker on the bezel?

Pity they didn't fix that bezel on this iteration.

Re: Great looking Squale
My assumption is that it would hit the 30 marker, or come to close and look weird. The result might be weirder though.
Re: Great looking Squale
Interesting color combo. Yes, those bezel markings always puzzled me and I found them very odd. Does anyone know why Squale did that? If it was just a unique visual thing then that was a big mistake.streetracer101 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2017 6:14 amPity they didn't fix that bezel on this iteration.

Re: Great looking Squale
I think the right side of the double width 30 min marker is the 29 min marker.

Re: Great looking Squale
should have made the 30 slightly narrower so they could have fit the 29 in, imo. what they did is a design copout. "there isn't room for it." "ok, fine, just leave it out."
Re: Great looking Squale
Stupid bezel marker aside- Squale makes some really cool color combinations. I love most of their blue creations.

Didn't Rolex do something similar with the bezel markings on the SD4k?

Re: Great looking Squale
That does look great. They also have one coming out with an all black bezel and dark blue sunburst dial. It will probably be the dark blue that they've used on other models, like the 101 atmos below.

Yes, as it was on the original Milsub. The SD has a slightly shorter 59 minute marker, though.
Stolen pics.

I love that brown/orange combo. Like Chris, I might have to break out the Tough Skins cords to wear it.

The Rolex only has three hash marks between each 5 multiple starting at 15. Looks like my Seiko's are this way too. Never noticed before.

That is a cool color combo, and I'd wear it, just not with that leather strap.

I don't know about that. I am wearing an Iso today and it is driving me crazy. I can't tell if it is just to sticky or what but having a hairy wrist with an Iso sucks.

I love the ISO. Still have yet to pick up one for the Marinemaster though.
Re: Great looking Squale
In my opinion, there isn't a better rubber strap on the market than the Isofrane. It is all day comfortable for me. I've never understood the complaints about the keepers being too snug. I'd rather have those things, sleek keepers than the comparably blocky keepers on most every other rubber strap. Some of them do stink, though.Seppia wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2017 1:57 pmYour ISO style straps are leagues better than the ISO.toxicavenger wrote:I don't know about that. I think I even opened a thread on WUS about it.
They are a better length, they don't smell, they are not sticky so they aren't a pain to put on and they don't catch hairs.
If they had a more premium "finishing" (hardware, how the plastic is cut) they would be perfect, but I'm not sure there would be a market for them at a significantly higher cost (I would, probably many in DWC would, but volumes are moved elsewhere).

I wish they did for me but I wore my CD2 lose today and my wrist actually breathed a sign of relief when I took it off.CGSshorty wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2017 8:37 pmIn my opinion, there isn't a better rubber strap on the market than the Isofrane. It will go back on a Art canvas or my SAS rubber strap.

Whenever I see brown/orange, I think of the horrible polyester Burger King uniform I had to wear for my first job. I wouldn't be able to wear that Squale.

Re: Great looking Squale
That's a toss up, both were hideous. I guess it was all part of learning humility as a kid. So I rode a moped to work, wearing a BK uniform, and to top it off, my parents made me wear a helmet, even though it wasn't required by law. And somehow I survived..toxicavenger wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2017 8:13 amHahaha I worked at Roy Rogers, so I don't which one is worse.
