New 2017 Bremonts

Post by logan2z » Mon Feb 27, 2017 3:14 am

Information on Bremont's 2017 releases is now available ahead of the official showing next week. Looks like there's a handful of new Supermarines at 40mm, a new pilot's watch called the AIRCO also at 40mm, a revamped lineup of Alt1-Ps, and a new 200 pc. Norton LE.

Great sizes. Dunno about the rounded lugs though. They have a TAG feel to them.
only accurate watches are interesting

The vintage lume is interesting, but the lugs in the rendering look off. I'll reserve judgement until real life pics emerge.
I've been a critic of Bremont in the past, but at least they seem to be taking notice that the big watch trend is losing its momentum. The smaller sizes are a move in the right direction.

The 40mm Supermarine seems like a great move and has my full attention, however the dial design looks a little flat and they lost the great looking bezel of the S500. They should have just scaled it down with subtle tweaks and I might be a buyer. As is, it looks like a Christopher Ward.

Would love a slightly smaller version of this.

This looks like another far less expensive British diver.

I like the size but will need to see that SM in person. The original SM seems a bit more unique in design. Any idea on price?

The Solo is the cheapest in the line up and is $4k. These will probably be in the high $4ks on rubber (at the cheapest).

Factoring in 25-30% off in 6 months and it's not a bad price. That's almost Monta territory. I'd pass on the bracelet unless it's a redesign (doesn't appear to be).

Loved the old Supermarine, but this update is a fail aesthetically, and why have they gone with a fashion bezel? Oh well.

I can't wait to see them in person. The new sizes fits my current tastes. Price aside, their catalog seems to be rounding out with something for everybody.

Those lugs are brutal, and somehow the piss lume got on the crown.

Crown with a color ring reminds me of a cheap Seiko diver
Good call. Sadly, it reminds me of the horrible crown on a Black Bay.

I want to love this but can't. The old SM was different this is kind blah. Sure it'll sell well.

The lugs don't seem to have transitioned well to the smaller case I thought it was possible due to the three piece design not being propositional shrinkable but the 37mm Solo seems to do it. I'll wait for some proper real life pictures before further judgement.

I'm thinking about Bremont a lot recently (the sales threads aren't helping).

Probably the only reason why I will never own the 36mm BB
I wish Tudor would have kept on producing the old five digit Sub under their own brand name after Rolex updated the line. Instead we get the BB :banghead:

^^^ it's tough when your brand has no purpose or heritage. I guess you have to make it up as you go.

As others have said, I really wish they just slimmed down the old ones and kept it date only. They were relatively unique. I am sure the new ones will be nice, but they do look pretty generic from the pics.
