Post by 1watchaholic » Wed Feb 08, 2017 12:58 pm

HELP!! Emergency!! I just picked up a Stowa Prodiver and I wanted to change the bezel. I read how to get it off and boom...no problem. But now that I'm trying to put the new bezel on it won't stay on and I don't want to screw it up! Stowa experts PLEASE provide me some tips! :banghead:

Don't know about Stowa, but with Seiko bezels you pressure fit and then turn it over on a hard flat surface (preferably over a towel to avoid scratches) and push hard. It should snap in place.

Thanks Nick! I just found that too. The key is lining up the bezel notches to the marks on the case. 15 minutes and counting...

You're going to want to put it on when flaccid. Also use a little lube.

OK then, but I don't think spit will do the job.

I believe the bezel on the Stowa sits slightly higher than the crystal, so...

Have you tried lining up the bezel, then carefully placing it face down on a hard surface and applying even pressure?

Be sure to place a soft cloth between the watch face and hard surface.

Not guarantees, but I've used that technique before.

FWIW, this technique works for other stuff too.

Thanks Bro! Well after a freaking hour the bezel is on. The whole secret to the job was lining up the markers. If they are a hair off when you exert pressure nothing. Well I'm going to wear this puppy the rest of the evening in celebration of my first bezel replacement. I guess everyone's first time is a little clumsy!!
