WE'RE BACK UP!
WE'RE BACK UP!
Huge thanks and 100% of the credit to ANDREW, our SDRM with the IT responsibilities for getting us up and running through a busy couple of work days.
The brief summary of what happened is that GoDaddy shut us down for being too big for a shared hosting service. And they did so without any form of warning. So turning lemons into lemonade, we used this opportunity to migrate to a new hosting service and upgrade all the forum software. Andrew did all the research on the services, did all the migrations and testing, and has done it all while keeping everyone's post count intact.
Yes, the one big change is that the forum skin had to change. The old one we were using was no longer supported on the new forum software, so you'll have to get used to it. We'll continue to test and play with other options over the next few days.
Again, this never would have happened without Andrew, as I'm far too stupid to figure this stuff out, especially this quickly. Thanks again to him and to all the members who reached out offering help (including Steve who offered his own forum as a temporary gathering place).
Well, fellas - as you were.

Re: WE'RE BACK UP!
I'm old and I'm scared of change.
Ok, now that's out of the way, well done. Sucks there was no warning from Go-Diddleyourself, but we'll all get used to our new home soon enough. Thanks guys.

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Re: WE'RE BACK UP!
Enjoy guys, I'm glad to have the forum back too!
In terms of the new skin, I know it may be a bit polarizing but the previous one is not supported on the new forum software. We're looking at making a few layout tweaks that will hopefully make things a bit more familiar.
We've got the latest version of the Tapatalk plugin on the server too so those who access the forum that way should enjoy a better experience.
Post or PM one of us if you run into any issues.

Thanks Andrew and Matt!
I have got lots of work done, talked to my wife, spent time with my kids and even went outside once or twice over the last couple of days.
Thank Fk that is all over

Great job Andrew! I was going nuts and almost ordered crack instead of straps from Terry.

Thanks for all the hard work. Getting my watch fix from other forums just felt dirty, so... dirty.

Thanks Andrew and Matt. Funny that I missed checking in to see what was going on but had no desire to go to another forum. I just got my fix from posts on IG and checked my searches on Watchrecon. That would not have lasted long. I am Glad DWC is back. Now to get used to the new format.
Regards
