How do you like the clasp?
I wonder if they would sell me one for my 216570...

Just buy a fake Rolex and throw away the watch.

I hesitate to say because it is the one element of the watch I am most uncomfortable with, but honestly it works very well and appears well made.

Ginault Ocean Rover Thoughts and Comparisons

Great review, thanks for taking the time to put it together. It seems really well built, and in line with the discount price, congratulations.

I'm not going to lie, I was expecting a lot more drama when I saw the thread title. People can get passionate when it comes to homages. The threads on WUS are crazy! You have to give the owner of Ginault credit, I can't remember a more discussed watch on that forum in the divers watch section. Good, bad, or ugly, it's getting a lot of attention.

Seems the norm anymore. As they say even bad publicity is considered good publicity nowadays. Call it the Kardashian affect.

Hell, Just send me the watch and I'll photograph it so we can all see what it looks like.

I've wanted to see one of these in person.

Make it a Hinderer deal and ship it around to regulars.

Better yet, a handful of guys throw in $50 each, we nab another one, pass it around and raffle it off when everybody's had a good look at it. I admit to being fascinated by it but not enough to commit to one.

We could even do a joint DWC review on it. Like editor's picks in the car rags.

Or we can just get this one and write a review about it. We can all run it over with our cars, freeze, throw in the dishwasher and do all kinds of torture testing. Who's in 5 bucks each

I would get in on something like this. Would really like to see one in the flesh. I would probably give one a go to see the build quality.......but I CANNOT STAND the load of garbage text on the dial. Sorry, that's just my opinion.

With all the claims on their website, the possible connection to reps, and the price, I think I'll take the Borealis over this any day. At least Borealis is completely upfront about what is going on.

I am blown away by the sheer quality and build on the Borealis.

I should hopefully be doing a side by side comparison between the Ginault and Borealis next week.

So what exactly does "Hand Built In America" mean? Does anyone know or has anyone asked the company?

Plenty have asked but no answers. The leading theory is that they are taking a Chinese 2824 clone and adding a few American machined parts and adjusting them to high accuracy.
