Wow...just read the owners comments. First of all, it is coming off as pretentious and if you have to explain in detail why it is so special, maybe it is not so special after all.
If we here can not figure out why it is priced as such, then who is going to be buying this watch?

Granted none of us have seen it in the flesh, but i don't think that will change many of our opinions if we did.

Forgetting all of that, and looking at the just the watch itself, regardless of price, I don't think the crown matches, the hands are short and the logo is wired. If the design had been more aesthetically appealing maybe, maybe it would be a contender.

I understand if he went the all Swiss route costs are high. But one, you should prove it, and two for your initial model you still went way too high with the price.

Just read all of the comments in this thread and in ablogtowatch--first that dude Yojimbo (Mormon comments) should be banned...no reason for that crap...

At first glance I like the watch, is it perfect, nope....Now, if it came in under $2500 that's whole other story...I can appreciate the Owners comments, but you can't fight every comment-- I would never comment about another brand...

I could never build a watch--I'm way to thin skinned...............

Just read the blog and went through this thread for the first time. I actually really like the watch (love the specs/size) and that it works with the Everest straps (which I love on my Subs), and would probably be a buyer at about $2,000 or less, but not at the current asking. Also, the name reminds me too much of NBA'er Monta Ellis (minor issue related to his killing the Dallas Mavericks for a couple years), and with the way I tend to mangle lugs I would worry that the polished inner side would get torn up fairly quickly.

Ok with the ligo but I hate the crown and the hands are too small. The non lumed bezel with no pip is ridiculous. And the owner bashing the Pelagos in order to build up this watch is silly. I want to add something big to my collection but this wont be it. Seiko MM at less than half on recon sound like a winner to me.

Ok, looked quickly at the watch, damn for that coin I'd be buying a pre owned Tudor Pelagos and have change to spare. J

There are a quite a few design elements that I don't care for:

- the date font really bothers me
- non lumed bezel, regardless of how exclusive and technologically advanced, is still useless for its intended purpose
- why have an oversized crown that doesn't match other design elements of the watch?
- short/small hands, even if they were made from plutonium by an advanced alien race that only selected one watch every century to contribute their expertise, are still too short/small
- $3500, you have to be kidding?, really?, good luck with that

Has to be photoshopped. His navel would be the size of a saucer if his belly was that protruded.
