At $350 it would be interesting. At $3,500 it is a bold entry.
Re: hmm...another microbrand
Not a bad looking watch and it's good size. No lume at 12 on the bezel though...and that price is ambitious to say the least.

Re: hmm...another microbrand
Very uninteresting. Especially uninteresting at the price.
Re: hmm...another microbrand
Looks like a decent, well-finished diver but $3500 for no name is gonna be a hard sell considering that's Tudor and Omega territory
Re: hmm...another microbrand
It's the first watch venture from the people at Everest (rubber straps).
I've been following their progress on Instagram. Very nice looking watch but I'm out at that price point.
I believe Brandon pre ordered one.

Re: hmm...another microbrand
They probably figured that it was a good opportunity to introduce a $3500 watch, considering how well the Swiss watch market is thriving.
No, it's not Tourettes.

A chamfer on the INNER edge of the lug is... an odd choice.

Is that price for real?
Nice movement, but font is too big, name and logo sucks, dial and hands, for some reason, do not play well together... and as mentioned earlier, that's Tudor and Omega territory (and Sinn).

Omega / Tudor / Rolex / Sinn / Doxa / Seiko

I don't like the date wheel font.Joeprez wrote:Is that price for real?

The logo is odd agree.
Minutes hand could be bigger or even sword shaped.
Too many odd mishmashes...
Did the inner lug chamfering bump up the price I wonder?

Re: hmm...another microbrand
Who buys stuff like this? If you're rich enough to drop $3,500 on some mediocre watch, with no track record that nobody has ever heard, would you actually want a watch like this?
Re: hmm...another microbrand
There are elements of the watch I liked. The bracelet looks good. The bezel insert looks good (albeit the lack of a lumed pip detracts from its usefulness).
If this came from someone such as CREPAS and was in the sub $1K range, I'd think it was interesting. At this price point it is so far out of consideration it isn't even in the same zip code as the watches I would consider. I would take a Tudor all day every day over this, or any number of Seiko divers, or Omega, (and the list goes on.)
Nice attempt but completely blown market research. Maybe I'm wrong, but the Rolex owners who would pay $250 for a rubber strap are likely not going to pay $3500 for a sub-a-like knock off.

Re: hmm...another microbrand
- and to echo Jacob's observation, why the heck would you chamfer the inside of the lugs? It draws attention to an area you would normally want to show tight machining tolerances in.
I get in on something like the MM300 where the bracelet is thinner than the watch case so you blend the case in, but in a thin oyster style case? Makes little sense to me.

A sub clone with sword hands. How original.
Another $500 and you're in used sub territory.
Around 1000, ok sure. That price? Insane

DEATH FROM ABOVE
Re: hmm...another microbrand
At this price point, you need history and / or an in-house movement like Nomos and Tudor. I also agree that the minute hand should have been thicker and a lumed pip at 12 on the bezel. Way over priced IMHO, but not a bad looking watch.

Re: hmm...another microbrand
All the hands are too short/skinny. The logo is odd, but not a deal breaker. The font is weak. The ft : m marking is a Rolex ripoff. The crown doesn't fit the case style. I can take or leave the chamfers but I think they're best on case edges to lesson dings. I see no point aside from aesthetics on the inside.
As has been said, I can see these selling for $1k. Anything more is silly.

Great looking watch.
Baffling price. Don't these micro guys look at their competition before launch?

Probably in the same way they looked at the competition before launching a $200 plus rubber strap. I doubt they'll get the same response.hoppes-no9 wrote:Great looking watch.

Re: hmm...another microbrand

Re: hmm...another microbrand
Can I just jump in here and say how much I appreciate the civil discussion of this watch here on DWC? The reviewer who wrote that article on ABTW is a friend of mine and I know he put a lot of hard work and consideration into it, and is anything but the shill the commenters on ABTW are accusing him of being. The level to which some commenters on some blogs will stoop, with personal attacks, behind the veil of relative anonymity, is really discouraging. I'm all for open dialog and the Monta isn't my thing, but close to 100 comments on that review, many of which are really low blows, has been sad to see.
I can always count on DWC for real people having honest but respectful discussions.
