So I picked out a Flieger...
So I picked out a Flieger...
Just wanted to follow up with you guys on a question I posed earlier this summer re: flieger watches. I asked you guys your opinion for a flieger style watch like a Laco/Stowa/Archimede etc.
Lots of great responses and thoughtful help. I finally went with a Stowa TO2.
Several things lead me towards Stowa.
1) reputation for quality and good customer service
2) the aesthetic of the flieger T02
3) Stowas history and ties to the traditional flieger
4) Robust case and water resistance ( 200m)
It wears (43mm)very, very nicely on my 6.75" wrist
And the rubber strap and deployant are super comfy.
Anyways thanks for your help and here are a couple of crappy pics along with a nice Swiss Army knife they sent me

So it comes on a rubber strap? I wouldn't think a rubber would go well on a flieger, but that looks perfect.

You can also order it on leather.Torrid wrote:So it comes on a rubber strap? I wouldn't think a rubber would go well on a flieger, but that looks perfect.

It really does work well with the rubber... This flieger is a bit more contemporary, according to Stowa, and so they offer it on rubber to accommodate that updated look.Torrid wrote:So it comes on a rubber strap? I wouldn't think a rubber would go well on a flieger, but that looks perfect.
That being said I am on the books with Art and Drew to get some leather and canvas straps
