Re: Borealis Cascais Swiss STP1-11 Preorder has begun
Man, the indices are way too big IMO. They overpower the dial.
Re: Borealis Cascais Swiss STP1-11 Preorder has begun
Maybe it's better in live photos, but it's almost cartoonish in these renderings.
Re: Borealis Cascais Swiss STP1-11 Preorder has begun
"Butterface" watch. Side profile looks great though.
Re: Borealis Cascais Swiss STP1-11 Preorder has begun
Those are SuperMaxi indices.

Maria's renderings I have never liked but I bet this watch is gonna rock when it is done. Also they are using C3 X1, X1 is a killer new lume mixture that is brighter than the standard C3 lume.
I still bet this will be out before Yao gets his 300's delivered.
Thanks for the heads up Luis!

The proportions of dial to bezel are awesome, totally anti-kobold seal
But agreed the markers are too big

Doesn't look bad. Size is perfect. I wish the company would stick to just a couple of colors and pick a handset and go with it. Seems to fashion watch like to offer a million customization options, but I guess that is what folks like.
As a designer, I want to be the one to tell them what they like.

They run polls on their forum and Facebook and then do the try and make everyone happy deal. For the most part, they don't really design anything. They post the initial concept and then let others vote on the details. This is both good and bad in my opinion. But if it works and they are selling them, who am I to say anything.dnslater wrote:Doesn't look bad. Size is perfect. I like the watch quite a bit even though the round hour markers appear a tad big. I prefer the second more traditional hands to the Bremont like hands here but matter of taste. The size is great. Hands length too. Proportions seem right and I dig the blue and brown dials even if I'd have preferred a darker shade of brown. But it could be the rendering ?

Dunno. I dig it. It's different without being too crazy.

maybe it's just me, but i think the numbers on the bezel are too big for the bezel. the top/bottom of the numbers are right on the edge.
and the markers are too big, as others mentioned.
(and i still can't get over the "let's type our name in MS Word in Times New Roman" logo. i did actually check, it is TNR.)

At least they got the chamfer on the correct side of the lug. Another non-serious micro watch. These guys don't get it.

Looks nice, but I don't care for the look of the bracelet.

Thanks a lot, Terry. I forgot I started this thread here cus of all the lack of love for most microbrands.toxicavenger wrote:Luis posted some pics on wus.
I'm in love with the white dial prototype. Took it to work today and couldn't stop staring at it. And the C3 X1 lume is the most powerful I ever had.
More powerful than the white Shumate, the Frankenmonsters and Sawtooths and more the Irreantum Magellan I had.
Here's the chocolate version. Nice gamble to go with such color but it ended up looking real nice. Only 30 of these will be made.
BGW9 on this one.
