Re: New watch
I just noticed the dial, what made you do that part? Deletion of the day?
Re: New watch
Looks great. Interesting that you went with the Sumo dial.

Re: New watch
I went with it because it had just a date window and it brought the hour markers closer to the inside of the dial. That way it helped me be able to use the MM style hands and they didn't look to short (I think).dukerules wrote:Looks great. Interesting that you went with the Sumo dial.
Plus, it has the same WR and the new "X" logo, so it is in line with the SRP's original styling/specs.

Re: New watch
Yes, plus it is a little more decorated with the silver surrounds and the dial spacing for the hands is better (further away from the chapter ring.Panerai7 wrote:I just noticed the dial, what made you do that part? Deletion of the day?

I love the lack of the day indicator. This really looks phenomenal all aroundandrema wrote:I went with it because it had just a date window and it brought the hour markers closer to the inside of the dial. Re: New watch
DLC (Harold)- $185 ($150 + $35 EMS Shipping)Panerai7 wrote:Just awesome Mark.

Hands (Dagaz) - $29 shipped
DD Crystal (Duarte) - $46
Sumo Dial (Mob/Monster) - 36.40 Euro shipped
Installation of Crystal, Hands, Dial, Pressure Test, Realign chapter ring, Ship back to me (Duarte) - $76
I left off my shipping to Harold and Duarte, because I forget how much it was. This all took about a month from beginning to end, with a majority of the time with Harold for DLC (Rob took 4 days, door to door to door).
I know...stupid cost to mod a NAFT, but I'm dumb
Re: New watch
So about 400 - yeah that's a rich man's mod
But the end result is phenomenal

Re: New watch
Is the date wheel on the 4S(? NAFT movement model) the same diameter as the 6R used in the Sumo? Just asking as it looks kind of like the date wheel isn't quite centered in the window, but this could just be due to the angle of the photo.
If (who am I kidding - when) I get a NAFT, I think I'll be doing a similar Sumo dial mod. I love the look of the watch with those marker surrounds. It adds a nice touch of elegance to the watch.

Orange sumo dial in a DLC case would be amazing.CGSshorty wrote:Yes it would. Where do I get one?toxicavenger wrote:an orange sumo dial would rock in one also.CGSshorty wrote:Dibs.
Re: New watch
I'd be happy with a standard 777 with the orange dial and sapphire.dukerules wrote:Orange sumo dial in a DLC case would be amazing.CGSshorty wrote:Yes it would. Where do I get one?toxicavenger wrote:an orange sumo dial would rock in one also.CGSshorty wrote:Dibs.
